See our goverments CRIME against our society?????

It is a reprehensible crime that the Bush administration would veto anything containing the 3.8 billion in additional funding that the VA so desperately needs. It is actually a crime against our whole society if our young veterans do not get the proper medical and mental health treatment they need.

The real crime is; Secretary of Veterans Affairs Jim Nicholson. The established presidential task force headed by VA Secretary Jim Nicholson, is a crime in progress. This oversight totally defeats the purpose when it is already known by our politicians that this whole system needs a major operation. Why let a big part of the problem just put a Band-Aid on it while saying; it's at my discretion as the Secretary of Veterans Affairs?

According to the Congressional research Center this needed troop surge has increased the cost of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan to 12 billion a month, plus other minor costs. Add to that 592 million for the massive US Embassy due to be fully operational in August. Senate staffers report; out of the 4000 living on the compound 1000 are American, many Iraq politicians, protection contractors and the local staff has a yearly cost of at least 1.2 billion! The residence here has fresh fruits salads, Turkey, fish, yogurt and Baskin Robbins ice cream shipped from the United States. How much is this delivery convoy costing every seven to 10 days? Why are our deployed troops the ones eating the ready-made meals?

How can the Bush administration possibly deny (veto) the needed addition of $3.8 billion for the Veterans Affairs to repair the physical and mental casualties of this war? Do you see where the real crime is?

It also reprehensible that Congress would knowingly attach the VA budget to a bill they know will be vetoed.

The outrage of the veto is their hope.

Our military has been eaten away at for many years. The downsizing in the 90's . . . the change of benefits for GI's . . . the closing and disbanding of many facilities and personnel.

Soldiers should never need for anything, esp those who are veterans of combat. The Congress just voted themselves a pay raise. Did they give one to our troops? Do you know many GI's are paid so little that their families rely on food stamps to eat?

Yep, the system needs fixing. But there are plenty of people to blame.

The real crime doesnt end with Bush alone, it is the whole lot of the political elitist in DC. We the American people are being held up. The politicians just dont literally have a gun to our backs. This is why I urge every voting American to go vote & lets send a real freakin message to Washington. NO ENCUMBANTS WHATSOEVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely, and you have to come to the realization that if your present government saw a potential for extreme profits the funds would be there....this is a pacifist speaking and while I do not support militaristic endeavours, I do believe that if a government sends the best and the bravest into "harm's way" then they should be taken steller care of... not only the wounded but the all troops upon their return....the troops deserve more; and, first and foremost, they deserve to believe that no matter what happens, they and their families will be taken care of...keep in mind that if word gets back that care is not there then imagine what it will do to the moral...this should be a given in any moral nation, but your administration is so controlled by the profit motive that the veterans are going to have to rally all decent Americans to make this government to do what should be a given...may the gods be with every man who does his duty even if it is for a misdirected government.

The least Bush can do is make certain that the troops injured in this war are taken care of. The fool cannot even do that.
