Emergency room visit was a horrow story.?

Are their any doctors or nurses that will answer my story. I felt like was the most drug addict peon. I have been having difficulty breathing off and on since thursday. I had a really difficult time today. I use an emergency inhaler. Any way my husband insisted that I go to the local ER. They were the most uncompasonate people. I was coughing steadily. I had pnuemonia before Christmas. The ER doctor came in a insisted that I was to stop coughing to answer his questions He prescribed Regland that I told them that I had a unfavorable problem with it,(panic attacts) also tylenol liquid with codine. My coughing continued for 1 hour,Then they decided to give me tessalone pearls. I had taken 2 earlier. They demanded that I take them. I refused. My head hurt, so did my head and the cough was still present. the dr.never returned to talk with me about my treatment, I had made a pack with myself not to go to that first-aid stand agin.My husband pd.50 for copay. I walked out withno papers.ADVICE

I am not ignoring all of your eperiences and did have a story to share. I appreciate all the help or the other may want to share about their personal experiences good or poor. Hey, I'm only 22 but at the time i was 20. I went to the ER one night for a really bad HA and dizzyness, they did everything blood, CAT scan, spinal tap. They where really nice. They could to fiugure out was wrong with me. So they gave me a high does of medical to help it, witch it did. Will then a wk after, it came back but worse, so I went to the ER ( I hate going) They took me back, they were so rude to me, the doctor though I was there to get drugs and I was not, I hate taking medication. He gave me a shot for a margine (did not work it made it worse) He told me if it did not help, then we would do somthing else. The nurse came in and asked how I was doing, I said nothing changed. She told the doctor. He NEVER came back, he sent in the nures to give me 800mg of ibforin. I yelled at the nurse (not really, but he was not nice) so they sent in another one. I was so pissed. I still don't know what is wrong. I will never go back to them again. I hope you are doing better now hun. take care, sorry for them.

go to a different er and try again

Go to a different ER and explain your story and exactly how you feel and you tolerences, etc.

Hospitals have a specific employee or office depending on the size of the hospital that is dedicated to quality control issues. When you have a problem during a visit whether it is a bathroom that is not well-stocked or a doctor that doesn't address all of your questions you have the right to talk to this person and get the problem solved. In some hospitals they are called ombudsmen or patient advocates. You need to make a call and go back to the hospital you visited.

Or go to another emergency room and be more assertive - do not leave without your questions answered, your paperwork complete etc. And remember you can speak to the ombudsman/patient advocate. You need to get your health taken care of.
