Since the pope won't allow birth control, how many abortions is he realistically responsible for every year?

I think this is an interesting question because it only applies to a certain kind of person. Roman Cathloics who are willing to follow the churches rules regarding birth control, but when it comes down to it, turn around and get abortions.

Do you think it's wrong for me to blame the pope for these abortions? He is the leader of that orgainization, and I believe rules like this are up to him to decide. Another reason for this is that the Cathloic church orgainizes medical care is many parts of the developing world. Since this is the case, the medical treatment that the people in these areas recieve doesn't include proper birth control advice and access to materials. This is also the popes fault in my opinion. I am fairly sure he has the power to change this situation. With a few words he could begin to fix many of the worlds problems, the african AIDS crisis, overpopulation etc...

It seems quite discompassionate to me. I understand this policy is based on a religious text

I understand this policy is based on a religious text but those are reintrepretated all te time. Surely he could fine some sort of loop hole.

I never understood why the anti-abortion people are also anti-birth control AND pro-death penalty. Isn't that killing too? If they promoted birth control there would be a lot less abortions. Birth control is especially important in the poor countries where they keep on having babies who then die from aids or starvation. I agree with you. He should take some responsibility.

Thousands I guess.

So its ok for them to have premarital sex but a sin to have an abortion? Oh my wat a bunch of BALONEY!! Double standards. Why can't they put the same restrcitions on premarital sex too. That way they wont have to get into all this birth control and abortion thingy.

What's even funnier is that the Church (back in the 10th or 11th Century) allowed it to occur before a certain date, so it's all dogma at this point

no one is responsible for anyone having sex!!!!

except the people themselves. period. that's all. end of case.

why does one need birth control?? i want to have a good time playing hanky panky...but i want to weasel out of any consequences of it.

You cannot blame the Church if YOU choose to follow one rule but not another. I am a Catholic and I have not had nor would I ever have an abortion.

He is responsible for no abortions. I am not Catholic but the RCC does not have a monopoly on morality my friend.

The cure for AIDS and abortion is not money or murdering the preborn. It is in following God's law. Yes, the Bible got it right.

The Pope is not responsible for any abortions. The Church does not teach that, and you know it.
I wish more people would be obedient to the teachings of the Church.
Just because you are in favor of abortion and apparently are looking for someone to blame, does not mean that you should look at the Pope. Ridiculous!!!

You would think that common sense would prevail. Apparently not.

The person who gets the abortion is responsible.

The person who consents to the abortion is responsible.

The person who performs the abortion is responsible.

Anyone assisting in the abortion is responsible.

The Catholic Church has always and will always promote abstinence outside of marriage. Sex was designed by God but intended to be reserved for marriage between a man and woman. When you preach abstinence, its hard to promote birth control at the same time. At any rate, the responsibility for any abortion is not with the Pope but the woman who made the decision to have sex and the decision to end the life of the person now maturing inside her.

None. Very few Catholics abort Right (?)
The decision is the woman's and if she considers it a sin, I'm sure she don't, Its a right of being free (I hate it use as a birth control).
You opinion in MY opinion has no meaning your a nobody just like me. PS: It is Pope. and He has determined that it is an offense to God. A sin> not that it can't be done. silly A.H. men.amen

Zero, unless he has a secret life that we know nothing about. The pope isn't the person who's getting people pregnant. People are responsible for their own actions.

Need I add that the pope doesn't allow abortions either?

Ultimately, people are responsible for their own actions. So no, the pope is not responsible for any abortions that he himself does not perform. However, he is responsible for creating a situation in which people are forced to choose between going to hell in the afterlife and living in hell on this earth. He is responsible for pressuring people into doing things that they don't want to do and that may even be harmful to them and their families. When a woman is told by her church that she is to obey her husband and to have unprotected sex with him whenever he wants, that church is creating an intolerable situation. There comes a point where it may well be economically impossible to support another child. There may come a point at which having another child is dangerous or even deadly to the woman involved. At this point, the pope is responsible not only for pushing these people into a corner where some type of sin is the only option, he is responsible for hurting the very people he is supposed to love and protect.

Yes it is fair to blame the Pope. And I assume he is responsible for over a billion murders of the innocents every year. Bet he'll be burning in Hell.

The Church does allow birth regulation, but only by morally acceptable means. The Church fully supports and guides married couples who find it necessary to postpone or space the birth of children. No-one is responsible for an abortion except the woman who decides to get one, the man who may be pushing her into it against her will rather than act like a man and face his responsibilities, and the abortion industry which tries to alleviate her fears so she will sign on the dotted line, even if it means a lifetime of pain and guilt for her afterwards.

Morality is not up to the Pope to decide. Immoral acts are immoral in and of themselves. Such acts do not become immoral because the Church teaches they are immoral. Rather, the Church teaches that such acts are immoral because in fact they are. The Pope cannot solve the world's problems by allowing sin. Sin only causes problems. It doesn't solve them. Those individuals who commit immoral acts are fully responsible for the consequences. If you don't want to have a child, don't fornicate.

Since the state won't legalize robbery, how many murders are they responsible for every year, since people who want to rob have to take guns and do it illegally, by force?

if the catholics are so devoted as u stated above and there not using birth control what makes u think that their having abortions....I'm sure some do and I'm also sure that some also use birth control
