Is it better to spend money on preventing death, or living life?

As living beings we are destined to die. While modern medicine has helped extend our lives we are still faced with death every day. There is no cure for any terminal illnesses in sight, and when we get close they mutate into something a little different (natures way of keeping us in check). The world is vastly over populated as it is with no clear solution in sight. There is famine, disease, and turmoil throught the world. Why do we then still have this urge to live forever. Would it not make more sense to spend all the money we blow on disease research, aids relief, and cures to incurable diseases on things to improve our standard of life? I lost my grandfater to cancer, he opted out of treatment, he let it kill him. His point was that he lived a full life, was happy, and made peace when it was his time to go.
My point, if we spent as much time and money making the world a better place to live in, embrace death as a natural order, and stop breeding like bunnies, better life

you bring a good point, but...

Not all people are ready to leave this world ...
For example Kids with Leukemia - they did not have a chance to live their whole life.

The main point is: One of our basic instinct is "survival".
Have we not had the modernization of medicine there would be less people alive today. The people who would live today would have much lower standard of living. So, in my opinion it is money well spent.

Not just medicine every other field contributed to quality of life we enjoyed today: Economy, Politics, Sociology, Astronomy, Biology, Industries, Technology...

"Would it not make more sense to spend all the money we blow on disease research, aids relief, and cures to incurable diseases on things to improve our standard of life?"

Should we stop the research for cures, research... our quality of life will not improve. People take for granted many things that we enjoy now, it was only a dream few decades ago.

"Is it better to spend money on preventing death, or living life?"

In conclusion, It's better to live life to the fullest regardless of the last day. Yet, money spent on preventing death should also keep flowing so that even if it adds one day to someone life - that's one extra day that person can life life to the fullest.

Very few people are breeding like bunnies nowadays

on the living. Because we don't know what happens when we die. we can only speclatuate about what its like. But we know what living is all about, the love, the pain, joy, sadness that is life. I believe we should work to make livining better for the human race, and try to achieve unity with all.

You must be very young.
In this universe, a short time of living is all the individual has and he needs to have the resource to prolong it as long as he chooses .
Old people are just young people in a wrinkly body .

I believe its better to spend money on living life because we are all going to die. But this world has implemented disease to create a profit and if you are not dying of natural causes 9/10 times you are dying due to some man made product. Some of the statements you made above are relate-able but at the same time off based. I do believe that you should not fear death and when its your time to go, its your time to go. But at the same time, in these days in time, your "time to go" may be determined by a world whose benefit is monetary. You say you think that we should spend our money to improve standards of life? If you feel that we already live in a world that is over populated, famined, diseased, and full of turmoil. How would we all survive? Stopping the spending of money on cures for diseases will not stop people dying from being famined. If that money is spend to feed the hungry then we will still have and over populated world. If people stopped breeding like bunnies - - Then the world would still only die faster because disease that is already here would only spread... Thus leaving turmoil - - it is a cycle it is inevitable and it has already been done... We all are going to die no matter what is done! Which is your point but at the same time not quite there. The only one who can change this is GOD!
