Any other ex-smokers out there experience physical pains after quitting?

I quit smoking a month ago tomorrow, and my mother, father, and husband all quit the same day as well. Within a few days I started to notice discomfort in my shoulders, hands, and feet. I didn't think much of it, but it has become increasingly painful and interferes with my sleep.

Still, I didn't attach any significance until I found out that my mother has not been able to sleep more than a couple of hours a night either - due to pain. She has been put on two sleep aids and for the pain she has been prescribed gabapentin (sp?). It is a feeling like a combination of pins and needles, burning, and crushing and it is in the bones and joints.

We both have the same sort of pain, only hers is far more severe. What I want to know is... have any other ex-smokers out there gone through the same, and is there anything we can do about it? Is it related to quitting, and can I wait it out and have it stop, or does it require treatment?

Drema, I can't figure out what you are trying to say - but no, it is not mild, and as for "sport will help" - if you are trying to recommend exercise, I get plenty since I have two children and one is only 8 months old.
