How do you soothe a swollen scrape?

I fell at the pool today (slipped on a slippery mat and landed hard on my left foot- twice), my foot swelled to almost twice its size. There's two elevated spots where the scrapes are the worst and they feel very irritated. In my hurry to get home on time, I didn't stop at the first aid station which delayed any kind of treatment, besides a quick wash with paper towel and water, by about a half an hour. I've tried neosporin and ice, in that order, but it looks worse now. Is there anything that might work a bit better?

Those are the things most recommended, so you are doing it right. Add Motrin or Aleve to the mix for the swelling and discomfort. Swelling can continue after the injury in spite of ice because your body has not finished sending extra blood and fluids to the area.

Keep it clean by cleaning the cut with hydrogen peroxide or alcohol and apply neosporin. Make sure to keep it elevated. Ice it every 2 hours. If the swelling doesn't go down, I suggest you visit the doctor.

ER now, may have fractured it or severe bruise. Only x-rays and trained eye fix correctly.

If you soak your foot in Epsom salt and warm water it should help to clean it out and soothe the pain. Soak your foot for fifteen minutes a couple of times a day. After you are done with that bandage up with some neosporin with a bandage. If it still doesn't get any better, I would go to a doctor.

Sorry to here of your mishap. Ice paks for the swelling, not too long at a time,could cause tissue damage. For quick relief of scrapes use spray solacaine, it's a topical freeing agent (For lack of a better word,) also good for sunburn ect. It will work. For now try a paste made from baking soda and cold water,plaster it on will help.Keep the foot elevated if possible. If in any doubt that you may have a fracture,make a trip to your emergency rm.
