In reference to a prior abortion question?

I read some answers regarding a woman who was faced with the issue of terminating a fetus with a chromosomal abnormality. Many women wrote that "doctors can be wrong....let god take care of it".

I am curious....to what extent do you take that philosophy (if indeed you prescribe to it at all)? If you have cancer, do you forego treatment because sometimes doctors are wrong? Do you stop taking medication for AIDS so that god can take care of it? Do you stop paying your bills and let god take care of that too?

I agree. Yes, doctors can be wrong, but most of the time, they aren't (particularly with the more advanced methods of chromosomal screenings and 3-D ultrasounds).

I think that people's hearts are in the right places (for the most part), but it's really easy to sit in judgment when it's not your baby's future at stake. You're not the one who might have to watch your newborn baby die shortly after birth.

Obviously, the OP on the other thread is faced with a situation she finds agonizing, and she is torn up about it--who wouldn't be? But she has made what she feels is the best decision for her baby, and second-guessing her and pleading with her not to "kill her baby" and to "leave it in God's hands" isn't helping her any. She obviously came here for support, and I think we should give it to her.

this isnt a real question but your opinion she asked a question and we gave her our opinions that is what this website is used for unlesss you asked the question you have no right to judge on what the ansewrs were bring on the thumbs down

NO. I'VE ALWAYS HEARD THAT SAYING "GOD HELPS THOSE WHO HELP THEMSELVES" AND HE DOESN'T GIVE US STUFF THAT WE CAN'T FACE.

What there really meaning is pray about it & God will answer your prayers,& help you one way or another,whether its right now or in the future!

Doctors are sometimes wrong, and a deformed fetus can turn out to be fine.

But most of them turn out to be very messed up if the mother opts to not terminate.

THERE IS A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SOMEONE TERMINATING A PREGNANCY BECAUSE THE CHILD IS NOT "NORMAL" AND HAVING CANCER OR AIDS. SORRY YOU CANNOT TELL THE DIFFERENCE......

You can only take it so far. When it comes to pre-natal diagnosis, doctors aren't usually wrong, particularly when it's a chromosomal abnormality. They have very sophisticated testing methods...it's how they can diagnose Down's syndrome so accurately.

I agree with you 100%........I don't prescribe to that philosophy at all. I think that god gave us the will power to make our own decisions, and I personally use that power.....Sometimes things are out of your hands, and I am against abortions in certain cases, but this would be a case that I would support. Imagine what kind of life that child would have....

No you dont stop and let God take care of it. But you let him help you thru it.
Wouldnt you rather hold that baby girl in your arms for a few hours or days, then never? She is alive right now. So let her be alive. She was made this way for a reason. She is a special child.
