Ethics question?

I read some answers regarding a woman who was faced with the issue of terminating a fetus with a chromosomal abnormality. Many women wrote that "doctors can be wrong....let god take care of it".

I am curious....to what extent do you take that philosophy (if indeed you prescribe to it at all)? If you have cancer, do you forego treatment because sometimes doctors are wrong? Do you stop taking medication for AIDS so that god can take care of it? Do you stop paying your bills and let god take care of that too?

Intervention is the key word..........don't get me wrong......let God let go.......is OK sometimes.......but you must be realistic.....I would use intervention and good information/counseling anytime....

Under certain circumstances I would say that God gave us the ability to intervene or assist in health care, therefore we're not going against Him by utilizing that which He enabled us to have. If God didn't want us to use doctors, He wouldn't have enabled the doctors & science to get as advanced as they are today.

Too many people go to the extremes, especially when the care is for someone else. Many times these same people that are against using doctors quickly change their minds when it's them or theirs that need such.

No. Just saying that it IS STILL A BABY and NOT to KILL it. If it was meant to be, then so be it. It's not like your doing nothing. Your taking the hardest rout. Not the EASY way out.

So you would compare a baby with a defect to a disease? There's a big difference between aborting a pregnancy and treating cancer or AIDS, so to compare the two is totally invalid.

We don't have the right to terminate a life just because it is less than perfect. I believe that through God we can find strength we didn't know we had to deal with life's ordeals.
