How to start a debating speech? Please help.?

Hi,
I am having a debating competition tomorrow and I need some help.

I am an opposition to the topic:
"Free treatment should be offered to all Aids patients."

However, this is my first time, so I don't know how to start the speech and link my points together.

My main points are:
- Subsidize treatment should be offered
- Patients have their responsibility to pay some of his money on the treatment

If you have any more suggestion, don't hesitate to write down!
this is important to me as I am having the competition tomorrow.

Thank you!

When I debated we did it for competition and started with the word "Resolved that....."

It sounds like you are not doing that so might I suggest that you actually play the nice card and say. AIDS is a terrible epidemic...statistics of health care cost etc....then move into...So is cancer, heart disease, etc. and all these diseases kill, but we can not in any way as a nation provide free health care to all of these patients. To pick one dying patient over another....(Give a huge guilt trip about the ethics and talk about national debt and the war and high gas prices and the burden on the public already)...

then make your main points

PLEASE NOTE I AM JUST A DECENT DEBATER,I DO NOT, NECESSARILY, TAKE YOUR SIDE. I WOULD HAVE TO HEAR BOTH SIDES TO MAKE UP MY MIND> GOOD LUCK>

Congratulations. That rocks. Report It

first at all i have to say than i am against your side and i hope u loose it . i will give u some points though .

point one . the high cost of treating aids .

point two . the low responsibility of those who usually acquire them and the "not" rule that society had on them to acquire them .

point three . when people is given everything for free they never learn to be responsible and to give the adequate value to what they receive .

point four . if they were given free treatment all sick on the world would ask for the same .

so this is all i can think about i hope u loose >:p
