I know that they are not poisonous but when bitten what is the recommended first aid treatment for it? Ice pack for swelling. Elevate the foot. wash the wound and put a band-aid on it. you can add some neosporin too. If you start to swell then call a doc. I don't think you have anything to worry about. Most of the time I do nothing more than clean it and sometimes a banaid with any type of bit the main thing to worry about is an infection, but that really is any type of open wound... Just the basicsAlso learn why he bit ya an approach him different next time You should hit it with some peroxide and alcohol... keep it clean! Band aids wouldn't be smart.. if the wound is deep.. puss would build up in it and then you would have an infection... just clean it and put antibacterial cream on it! I usually use a mild soap to clean the area and do nothing more for it. The bites aren't usually anything to worry about. Both peroxide and alcohol are poor choices for wound cleaning as they kill healthy tissue. If you must use peroxide, dilute it well with water. Soap will usually suffice. |
