Should we be alarmed that Fluoride is in our water supplies?

Some argue that water fluoridation is a means of medicating the masses and violating individual rights, preventing us from deciding what medical treatment best suits our needs. They cite facts of fluoride that do not readily paint a pretty picture. Examples of which are:

-There are other ways of delivering fluoride besides the water supply
-Fluoride does not need to be swallowed to prevent tooth decay
-Tooth decay has dropped at the same rate in countries with, and without, water fluoridation
-Studies indicate fluoride鈥檚 potential to cause a wide range of adverse, systemic effects which include:

-Fluoride has been shown to weaken bone strength, leading to an increase in hip and wrist fracture
-A lowering of IQ
-fluoride can weaken the immune system, leaving people vulnerable to the development of cancer and AIDS.

Do you think we should be concerned about the amount of fluoride the government is putting into our water supplies?

Tap water is all toxic. No matter what your told, your water DOES contain lead, and calcium and other minerals. These are all harmful to your health. And yes it is true that other countries without fluoride in their water systems do have just as good dental health. Also, if your really interested in learning all the government secrets and things, think about something for a moment: Who makes the AIDS medications and things? The Pharmaceutical companies. Now they charge you quite a bit for them(even though there is already a cure for AIDS) and of course if they cured everyone, they wouldn't make any more money off the medicines. SO what can they do? They can pay the government to purposely weaken our immune systems, so that more people DO contract AIDS and other viruses, thus they make more money, and as long as they make more money, the government makes more money.

I'm not sure if you believe that because there are alot of people who will tell you it's a load of crud, but you have to believe and think for yourself.

So in other words, yes we should be alarmed that fluoride is in our water supply.

people think that tapwater is bad for you. its not HORRIBLE but there is better water out there i.e. bottle water


the water in our areas are strictly regulated by the water company so it is regulated making sure there arent harmful amounts of anything in it.

Flouride isnt bad but it can be in big amounts, nothing to worry about huge amounts wont be found in tapwater or bottled

I'm an 8Th grader doing a research paper on this topic as you read. i was interested in answering this and sharing my knowledge with others.

this is actually such a wide topic, that i too am interested in. fluoride is a chemical that was just recently classified as RAT POISON. that was its only use.

there are many diseases and disorders you can get from to much fluoride, including fluorosis, a nasty disease on your teeth. Many, many people have been affected horribly by the fluoridation in our water systems.

some may say to drink bottled water, but not necessarily, because there are toxins in the plastic bottles which release in to the water.(not to mention plastic water bottles don't decompose!)

we really should be concerned and a good way to try and stop the fluoridation in water would be to write a letter to your local legislation convincing them to stop it in at least your local area.

if your more interested in jut helping yourself on this matter, you can also go to a house wares store and buy a filter. read carefully and make sure you don't purchase a filter that DOES NOT filter out fluoride.
