How about this: Deny us access to Mental Health care, but allow us access to pain-free suicide!?

I wish this were a joke or a rant but I actually want opinions on this. I鈥檓 at the point now where I am applying for State Aid to get medical treatment for physical & mental problems that I have been suffering with since the age of 9 yet couldn鈥檛 get anyone to take me seriously so now, 18 years later, I鈥檓 still just sitting here, suffering, unable to have a life. I鈥檝e 7 suicide attempts under my belt & though I don鈥檛 know if I will have the guts to try again, I鈥檓 sick of always waking up the next day only to be told that all my problems are 鈥淚n my head鈥?(Duh!) & to just think happy thoughts鈥?So hear me out, please read the whole thing, & give me your opinions.

In the United States there is still a HUGE stigma attached to being mentally ill. We have lost the stigma attached to people getting on medication because of the fact that all the 鈥淚鈥檓 not satisfied with my life鈥?suburban soccer mom鈥檚 got put on Prozac & Zanax but actually getting APPROPRIATE medical treatment for your mental issues is not just stigmatized, it is out of the question for anyone without health care AND for a majority of those WITH health care! Even when I had Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, I STILL had to pay $150.00 OUT OF POCKET each month for a 10鈥?5 minuet session that consisted of:
Doctor: 鈥淗ow are the med鈥檚?鈥?
Me: 鈥淭hey make me want to do harm to those around me & I can鈥檛 afford the blood tests!鈥?br> Doctor: 鈥淥h, ok. See you next month!鈥?br> *

You could always apply for medicare/medicaid. It really helps to get that and it could pay for doctor visits, even to the psychiatrists office.

Obviously you are a very intelligent person. This article or question needs to be sent to the White House, everything you said is so true.
I agree that you need to try to bet a county medical card if you are eligible, or they may give you a waiver to see someone other than who you are currently seeing, make this your choice of who to see.
I really hate to here of your attempts of suicide,,Please get the the paperwork in gear and find your local mental health facility and don't let then just push you in and out,,,speak up and tell them everything that is going on with you , and your thoughts of hurting yourself....there are people out there who care...REALLY..!!!!

I also have suffered at the hands of this-the richest nation in the world- denying me over and over again help when it comes to aid.
Social Security told me to find a less stressful job and I would be fine. Denied county aid because my boyfriend, who is the father of my child makes to much money. I am sick and tired of being punished because I live with my child's father. If he was not on the birth certificate I could get what ever help I wanted....
It is pure CRAP!! We struggle constantly with bills and living.
By the way he makes $8 an hour and that is enough to sustain a family of 3. What a joke!

people might think over if they actually want to die more carefully too if they KNOW they'll definitely die in the suicide booth as opposed to the chance they might live if they do it themselves. it might even save as many lives as mental healthcare
