14) Ban guns! 1) Gay marriage should be legal in all 50 states.
Agreed.
2) We need a democratic president.
No opinion.
3) More money should be spent on AIDS research and treatment.
Disagree. I think it should be put towards stem cell research and cancer research.
4) More money should be spent on education.
Agreed! And less on our failing military.
5) We should pull out of Iraq.
Agreed.
6) Global warming is real and man-made.
Disagree. But it doesn't hurt to clean up.
7) More money should be spent on the homeless.
Disagree.
8) More money should be spent on social programs for single moms.
Depends on the situation, age, and liability.
8) The death penalty should be abolished.
DISAGREE.
9) Windfall profit taxes for oil companies.
I don't think it'd do much, honestly.
10) Allow openly gay people in the military.
Not until the country accepts us.
11) Universal health care.
Agreed.
12) Free college tuition for everyone.
Disagree, although it should be cheaper.
13) More taxes on the rich.
Depends. If it's hard-earned, then perhaps not.
14) Stricter gun control laws.
Agreed. 1) Gay Marriage = yes - Just a matter of equal rights
2) Democrat = no - Democrats are not really any better than republicans, they just give to their own group of special friends. We need an independant.
3) AIDS money = no - We spend huge amounts of money in all sectors of disease control (including HIV) and should continue doing so.
4) education money = no - We are already spending more money per pupil than any other industrialised nation. The problem is discipline not money.
5) Out of Iraq = Yes - should not have been in in the first place.
6) Warming man made = no - Warming exists but it is just part of the natural weather cycles that take place on the planet. That said - We still need to clean up our act by recycling and being more efficient.
7) Homeless money = no - Let private organizations help them at the local level. They do it more effeciantly. Many homeless people just prefer that type of life.
8) Social money single moms = no - Local organizations again would be more effecient
8) No Death penalty = yes - killing people is wrong
9) Windfall oil = yes - nuff said
10) Gays military = yes - equal rights
11) Universal healthcare = no - no huge thing organized at the federal level as worked, don't let them have this.
12 ) Free college = no - would turn colleges into slums of people who just do not want to work
13) Rich taxes = no - the rich already pay a proportianly higer amount of their income in taxes
14) Gun control = no - everyplace that has invoked gun control laws has had an increase in crime, and everywhere people are allowed to carry firearms the crime rate goes down. If more of the private citizens had been armed then 9/11 would never have happened 1. No. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...
2. No. We need a President with a backbone. Not some Liberal douche.
3. No. I'm sure plenty is being done as we speak.
4. Yes. But where do you get the money from. Divert moneys from transportation and you end up with crappy roads. How are the kids going to get to school then?
5. Only when it's deemed safe for the Iraqis to to care for themselves. I'm sure if the Iraq government would tell the US to leave, we would.
6. Yep, it's real. Mad made? lol. I watched Al Gores documentary. It should be classified as fiction/comedy. Any first grader can look at the graph of the history of ice ages and come to the simple conclusion that the world's climate oscillates in a predictable fashion. And the one thing Gore never gives is an answer to his global warming problem. Why? Because the only way to reduce CO2 emissions from the expansion of the world's population "is" to reduce the world's population. What's he going to suggest? We kill off 3 billion people.
7. Sort of. I think the government should round up the homeless and put them in education camps. Then teach them how to care for themselves. If they learn, let them go. Those unable to learn, could pay their way by working at the camp. It could be that way with all government institutions. The homeless could work the land, process the food they grow and serve it to prisons, etc. In exchange, they would receive housing, food, health care, etc.
8. I think we're doing all we can. I work as a care giver and see many government funded areas that are strapped for cash.
8. No. Actually, IMHO, I would like to see an "eye-for-an-eye" system enacted. Kill and be killed. Steal, and get your hand lopped off. Rape and get castrated. You see where I'm going.
9. No. It's not the oil companies that are causing the rise in prices, it's the stock market. People are buying oil futures and causing the price to rise on speculation. It was the same with junk bonds in the 80s. All hype and no substance.
10. No. I'm a Veteran. I have first hand knowledge why it's not acceptable behavior in the military.
11. Yes. But when you figure out how to pay for it, you'll win the Nobel Peace Prize.
12. Same answer as #11
13. Sure, why not. And when you, personally, are making 100k a year and they're taking 40k out in taxes, I would like to hear from you again. And if you don't think the rich pay taxes, chew on this. The year Michael Jordon made 30 million, he paid $720,000 in Medicare taxes alone. Tiger Woods paid $506,024 to Shenzhen City, China for income taxes resulting from exhibition golf tournaments there.
14. Yes. I'm a gun owner. I hunt for food. I believe in waiting periods at purchase and background checks. I don't think anyone should own assault rifles in public. If you want them for pleasure, keep them locked up at the range and use them there. But I would never deny the right to keep and bear arms. I would never deny someone to own a pistol/gun to safeguard his possessions. |
