How long will you live if you have aids and you havent gotten any treatment?

truely i dont have aids or anything im just curious because we are learning about it in school!

HIV/AIDS is an immune destroying disease, which means that it makes it harder to fight off infections if you get one, which is usually the cause of AIDS related death. Without treatment, once AIDS has fully developed, a person could die from the next infection they get.

If you have HIV or AIDS, please go to a clinic and get treatment. There are TONS of clinics that will give you the medicine at a low cost or free.

There is no way to know for sure, since, as with any illness, different people may have slightly different responses to AIDS and its complications (the body's inability to fight off other infections). However, a person who is HIV+ and being treated is likely to live longer than one who has full-blown AIDS and is not receiving treatment.

I have had HIV for 8 yrs.I have to start meds next week.If I don't the doc said within 2 years I could have full blown AIDS and then it doesn't take long from then before something kills you off.So meds are very helpful.

There is no present cure for aids, although there are treatments that help. Once you get AIDS, you have it until you die. Treatments today can help prolong life and help with symptoms, but as of yet there is no cure.

It's not how strong your immune is- Doesn't HIV.AIDS make your body more immune to diseases because it kills off all your white blood cells....

I believe it all depends on your health at the time you contracted it and how strong your immune system is.
