Im sick with people saying kids cant use alli!?

its not even a diet pill! its a weight loss AID. its good for 18 year olds? so why cant a 14 year old like me try it and see what happens? my sister is 18 and im bigger than her anyway. i have an adult body already and it sucks. im 14, 5'2and 157lbs. im not gonna become some hardcore freakin addict like everyone has said and im not going to get a heart-attack! if i feel something is different im going to stop the pill immediatley. im already following a low fat reduced calorie diet, but its my portions that i cant control and this AID will help, my mom has told me ill be completely safe and i can contol the treatment effects, (i will) jjjjeeez

Alli is definitely one of the best of the diet pills in terms of safety. It doesn't contain massive amounts of caffeine, it just works by binding to fat before it is digested. HOWEVER, the reason it is not supposed to be used in people under the age of 18 is that it also blocks the absorption of important nutrients that you need in your teenage years.
It's up to you and your parents to make that decision though. To me, it wouldn't be worth the risk of potential osteoporosis or other deficiencies later in life..

no, at 14 your body is NOT fully developed. You may have had puberty, but you are not done developing. They dont reccomend diet pills (or AIDs call it what you want) for children because chidrens bodies function differently than adults. If you are having a problem with portion control you need to make these changes:

eat 5-6 small meals a day
eat fruit, vegetables and lots of fiber
drink lots of water

I dont think you should take that pill. You could actually ruin your metabolism with those and then you will NEED them to lose weight.

Umm I really wouldn't try the stuff at any age.
Although it may help you lose like a pound a week or something like that, it loosens up your bowels. On the pills instructions they warn to carry an extra pair of pants because you may literally soil your pants without expecting it. Diet and exercise are a little safer for ya. In both the long term weight loss and in not soiling yourself. Good luck!

When I was your age, I weighed 220 pounds (I am a girl)--so believe me, I understand how frustrating it is to want to lose weight. But I am telling you with all of my heart and knowledge--the pills will not work. I took Alli when it was under the prescription name of Xenical. I lost only a few pounds..and eventually regained them back.

Trust me, I have tried everything short of swallowing live tapeworms--diet and excercise are your best bet.

Weight watchers is probably the healthiest way to go.....and they accept children

If your mom is willing to buy it and you are willing to follow the directions then take it and see what happens. Most people say that teens can't use it because they arent responsible enough to follow the directions exactly as they are told to do.

Make sure that you ask an adult first to see what they say, then check the box to see how old you should be. Also, ask your doctor. You should just stick to cutting down on your food and exercising more.

do u know what alli does? it makes it impossible for all fats (even the good ones) to be absorbed into the body, your crap comes out all oily. it hurts your intestinal tract too.

I do not think anyone should take dietary aids, they are not good for you. Eating healthy vegetables, lean meats, fruits plenty of water instead of pop and exercise should do it.

It's not a good idea. If you're only 14, your body isn't fully developed yet. It's best you ask your doctor first, because since you are so young, you can' predict what will happen to your body.

There's healthier, better and safer ways of losing weight, such as eating good and getting good fitness. Here are some things that can help.

1.Eat good fruits such as Apples, Tanderiens, Pomgranats, Pears, any fruit. Try not so much bananas because they have lots of natural sugar in them which isn't good. I know this because my dad'd a dietbetic.

2.Work out and get a good amount of exercise. Go out with your friends, skateboard, rollerblade, bike, or just run around or go for a walk. Heck, even walk your dog if you have one. Go call on a friend and hang out. Even going to the mall is exercise!

3.Get enough sleep. Sleep is good for you, so don't be going to bed really late at night than waking up too early. Since you're 14, you should aim for atleast 7 hours of sleep.

Well, I sure hope this helped. Don't forget to ask your doctor before you go to use a pill like this. Your mom may say it's alright, but she's not a doctor and she's not expereinced like one.

I'm not sure it has anything to do with your age. I don't really know much about it except that the pill makes it so that you physically CAN'T eat certain things without getting completely sick. I've heard people say that it makes them have horrible stabbing pains and they can't keep anything down. I haven't ever heard anything about the age but it might be set to avoid lawsuits. If someone under the legal age used it and became violently ill, then the company could have some major problems. So they only give it to people who are legally able to say that they understand all the possible side effects.
