AIDS: Who should bear the cost of treating each case, the individual or society?

Like those cancers blamed on smoking, most persons contract AIDS as a result of a personal choice. The cost of treatment of an AIDS case continues to rise. It is expected that the number of cases will continue to climb and the total cost will be staggering. Can you defend your side?

I really think that the government should be made to pay for treatment as not every case of HIV/AIDS has been self inflicted.
And yes HIV/AIDS is at a peek with millions of people infected to-date.

So the people that didn't make the choice to get AIDS should suffer...ya know like people who were born with it, raped, were cheated on, got a needle stick injury, etc?
People dont sit there and say, hey I think I will catch AIDS today...nope. Like people dont say hey let me develop diabetes, etc.
AIDS is a medical concern. Many diseases and illnesses are caught by personal choice as well, so should we exclude those to? Or do you just have a problem with people that have AIDS? It doesn't matter ones medical concern or how they acquired it, it still needs to be helped.

As for smoking.The government said yrs ago when they made tobacco legal that it was fine.Why don't those bastards pay for our rehab now that we are hooked.
