Where can I get financial aid, other than loans, for fertility treatments? |
I have been trying to conceive for many years and it looks like we are in the need of IVF. Its going to cost over 8,400 dollars for one cycle. I was wondering if anyone knows of any place where we can get financial assistance for fertility treatments without getting a loan. Our health insurance doesnt cover IVF and we have horrible credit so we cant get a loan for the amount we need. You may be able to find a fertility clinic that offers some kind of a payment plan, but since you have bad credit, you may not qualify for that. I don't know about a loan but I do know that it is VERY expensive. I don't know how bad it is financially for you, but I am doing IUI. It is about 2500.00 a month and we have about a 60% chance each time we do it, have you talked to your OB-GYN usually they can do most of the work up you need. Also call the insurance and find out if it is not covered or is it just not written into the contract bc if it is just not written in the contract you can appeal it! There's no loan program for infertility. You would have to take out a personal loan. If you've been trying to conceive for many years and it's not happening, have you considered other alternatives such as adoption? There are so many kids out there who need a good home. Believe me, there is no difference - I have one adopted and one biological child and I love them both the same. If you can't afford to pay for the treatment can you afford much more to support a baby? I'm so sorry about what your going through but i don't know any place that provide you with a loan in that amount for infertility with out good credit.but maybe you could see a real good obgyn and they would put you on some type of payment plan. i know its hard on ppl that dont have lots of money and your right you don't have to have a lump sum of money to take care of a child.i wish you so much luck. Unless you can finance the treatment yourself or get loans for it you're out of luck. Your best bet is to try and get a job with a company whose medical insurance covers infertility. Most don't. The only person I know who was covered is my friend who is a NY teacher, everyone else I knew who had any IF treatment had to self pay. if i were you i would try to clean up your credit and try a loan in 6-12 mo,sell stuff to pay more on the bills, otherwise theres not much you can do |
