If you were being occupied....?

what would you consider to be the occupiers leaving?

a) them leaving completely

or

b) the occupiers moving their settlers out but they still control your electricity which in turn controls your sewage treatment plants etc, the occupiers setting up a buffer zone and controlling your border not letting anyone in or out and letting in as little aid as they can.

my vote goes for A

* - i know eygpt isnt as bad as israel but they certainly arent a help. theyve let down the people of the gaza strip big time. eygpt which is under a dictatorship (a pretty secular one at that) fears nothing more than hamas getting influence in eygpt and perhaps overthrowing the government and installing an islamic regime. this is why eygpt seals there border the moment israel does too. they dont want palestinians roaming around in their country. whilst eygpt doesnt have as much to answer for as israel they still have let the palestinians down all because of fear of hamas gaining influence

I can't believe people think Israel has just left Gaza alone and never touched them since 2005. And then Hamas started firing rockets because they are evil and Israel must protect herself.

Did Egypt ever deny them controlling Gaza? Did Egypt try to act like the good guy? Did Egypt say Gaza was just fine when in reality, its become a humanitarian crisis? Does Egypt control the rest of Palestine via Fatah? Did Egypt try to overthrow a democratically elected government in Gaza?

Edit: I agree that Egypt has let them down. They are also blockading them in, which Israel supporters don't ever let go of. But lying pisses me off more. Israeli foreign minister tried to say Gaza was fine...we know that's bullshit. Egypt doesn't even try that. Israel is wrong as is Egypt, but she actually tries to cover it up. I have more reason to be angry at Israel.

Your right the Arabs that call themselves Palestinian should leave and return to their own country such as Egypt, and Jordan. Here is a little history most people forget:

On May 14, 1948, the day before the end of the British Mandate, the Jewish Agency proclaimed independence, naming the country Israel. The following day five Arab countries 鈥?Egypt, Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq 鈥搃nvaded Israel, launching the 1948 Arab-Israeli War. Morocco, Sudan, Yemen and Saudi Arabia also sent troops to assist the invaders. After a year of fighting, a ceasefire was declared and temporary borders, known as the Green Line, were established. Jordan annexed what became known as the West Bank and East Jerusalem, and Egypt took control of the Gaza Strip.

When Jordan and Egypt captured the West Bank, East Jerusalem and the Gaza strip they moved their own people into the captured land to claim it as their own. Later they started to call themselves Palestinians.

Pre 1967 Gaza was Egyptian. Now it is Palestinian.
The Egyptians could have made Gaza self sufficient but they did not.
Israel would help Gaza to be self sufficient but Gaza wages war against Israel.
Israel's actions are purely defencive against a regime (Hamas) that send daily rocket fore and encourages suicide bombers.
Gaza gets plenty of aid from the Eu and the US but Hamas do not spend it on infrastructure but on arms. Hence the said now stopping.
Do you read the newspapers ever. All this is current reporting.

On the occasions where power was cut off to the Gaza strip, Hamas itself was responsible in order to whip up hatred for the Israelis. Also, Israel has the right to restrict traffic along its own border like any other country, so that wouldn't be considered "occupation".

Hi Otto, are you referring to the OTTOMAN Empire? Or the Romans? Or maybe the Seljuks...hmmm or could you be referring to the Egyptians? Maybe you are refering to more recent times when the British occupied the region? How about this let's narrow this down to when NO ONE occupied the region! er....

A of course, you (as in your fellow citizens) gaining complete control of your own land and resources.
