What to do about my iguana broken tail?

HI
A few weeks ago i noticed my iggys tail had gone really dry at the very tip so i thought it may have benn just some skin that still needed to be shed but as the weeks went on i noticed the dry tip had increased in length to about 4/5 inches long. So no i start to panic and read up as much as i could an came to the conclusion that he had a small break in the tail due to a tail whip maybe???? and that it got infected an slowly traveling up the tail. I must add i do take great care of my ig he has a great diet and all the correct lighting and heat source's. Now here's the dilemma im stuck in. I live in a small countryside town with only one vet who does not deal with reptiles and unfortunately i do not have the cash to travel miles away to a vet that can help me let alone pay for the treatment so i read up a DIY on how to amputate the tail myself. It seems very strait forward and i am comfortable to do it myself.
Now for those who will answer (you are cruel take him to a vet) i do have an answer for. in the wild when a predator attacks an iggy does it take anesthetic first? NO. Plus when the tail has come away will the predator admit first aid on the iggy. NO.
So i may be the predator here but i can assure u i will nurse him back to good health.
thanks

Tail breaks in iguana's are common. It's a self defense mechanism.
When a predator attacks a iguana it will most likely latch onto it's tail and the iguana will snap the tail forcing a break. If you look closely you will see multiple break points.
For now I would apply an antibiotic cream to the tail tip and keep an eye on it. More than likely it will resolve by itself.

I would hold off on the diy amputation. You may do more harm than good.

I agree with the other poster. DO NOT DIY an iguana's tail. The iguana will heal if you just put a little ointment on it. Iguna's break their tails all the time, and that part of the broken tail will eventually fall off. When that happens the igunana will start to grow a new tail.

Take It To A Vet!?!?!?!

Or Get A Vet Out To It ?!?!?!

Simples xD

take it to a vet

you need a vet
