Did the Clintons make a political mistep with Obama?

Consider:

Hillary Clinton: Secretary of State, but all the important jobs in State are carved up by Obama supporters.

Former Sen. George Mitchell = Arab-Israeli relations.
Dennis Ross = Iran.
Former U.N. Ambassador Dick Holbrooke = Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Clearly reducing her role to be something more of a ceremonial position - "I announce Aid Package, I visit allies we are already on good terms with."

Consider: Bill Clinton's role.

Under GW Bush, despite conflicting ideology (and probably because Clinton and George Sr. got on so well), Slick Willy got to be the star advocate for critical situations like Hurricane Katrina / Asian Tsunami crisis. Here, he gets Haiti.......and that's about it. He's been steered away from the more glamorous humanitarian issues.

The Flipside of the Above: Almost all of Obama's top ranking advisers, despite his calls for "Change," are Ex-Clintonites.


Kinda confusing isn't it - on the outside ALL political parties have to portray themselves to be one happy family (a Republican case in point would be the treatment McCain received from Bush in 2000 - Rove successfully portrayed McCain's adopted Indonesian daughter to be an illegitmate african American lovechild born from a prostitute - and despite all that McCain had to "bury the hatchet" with Bush once Rove pushed him into the Candidacy).

But for ye Cynics and Pundits, and Beltway Insiders - my question still stands:

Did the Clintons make a political misstep in siding with Obama?

South Carolina - 2000 Primaries, John McCain is actually giving GW Bush a run for his money, so much so that Junior might actually lose the candidacy.

Then Karl pulls off the dreaded "Push Poll" autophone tactic:

The "polling question" snowballed as the story got more and more convoluted - to the point that a lot of McCain's supporters and friends across the Party divide thought that it was probably one of the lowest conceived political tactics in history.

But it got the Job Done - and Bush one SC.

Cindy McCain never forgave Rove, which is why he was never an official adviser during the 2008 elections.

I'm not sure they had a choice when Obama won a landslide victory. I think Obama is going to prove to be a disaster and his approval rating is going to plummet. Hillary is probably already figuring out how she can leave the administration quietly and smoothly sometime in the next year or two.

P.S. what the heck are you talking about regarding Rove and McCains daughter? Never heard that one before. I hope you're just being facetious.

Friend....The Clinton's know what they are doing....Obama is a disaster and you know it...Time will heal America, and give the Clintons another chance.
