Consent for Emergency medical treatment? |
I know you are going to think I am nuts but if I am in an accident I do not want anything done to me without my consent, (other than basic first aid). I do not even want my spouse to give consent. It's my life,my body, my decision. My question is. If I make a card and put it with my drivers license stating this do emergency personnel have to comply? Im a EMT and we would have to comply with that. But the best thing to do is get a doctor or a lawyer to make a paper stating that. Like a advanced directive. That way you know for sure that emergency medical services will comply with that. Yea they have to comply. I'm not sure it makes sense though. |
