Help with severe burn...treatment??!!?

okay so a few days ago, i purchased an expensive professional straightener which goes up to 400 + degrees.one day i was rushing through my hair straightening, when it slipped and burned my arm, leaving a big red burn, which is very painful, and gross to look at, really. yes, it was my mistake and i feel like an idiot for doing it, but now i have this severe burn that really hurts and i dont know how to treat it. my mom says to keep ice on it, but that doesnt help with the pain...are there any creams or medicine i can put on it to help with the pain??? and can i put a band-aid over it, or is it best to just leave it for air?? can someone (preferably someone who knows medical stuff) help me to treat my burn??? :)

Go to walmart, or any other store like it and go down the first aid aisle, in there you need to get burn ointment( johnson and johnson has some) and gauze or a band aid big enough to cover it every morning and night put the ointment on it and a band aid or gauze wrap

Use Aloe Vera Lotion/Cream or Noxema (both over the counter), it will help cool the burn. Do not cover it as this will produce friction/heat and not heal. If it's a 2nd or 3rd degree burn I suggest seeing a Dr. and getting SSD 1% cream (prescription - silver sulfadiazine), it's a medication specifically for burns.
