The bill and melinda Gates foundation is it for real or is it a bluff-conspiracy theory?

the B&M Gates foundation is the worlds largest philnatrophy body. with 29 billion in it and more to come with the gates couple, and buffet is already pledging some 12 mil class B shares from bearkshire worth of some 30 bil. it kept me thinking is it a good thing to have a philantrophy body with such huge assets. White collar crime can easily slips in, e.g money laudering and tax evasion for microsoft corp and heathaway berkshire inc. another thing is that would it jeapordise the US or the world economy. Mr. Gates could have pledge his wealth instead to microsoft corp's R&D for the sake of technology progress for the betterment of mankind. another thing is that the gates foundation invested heavily on AIDS and Cancer treatment, so what if they did come out with a vaccine that could cure these ailments imagine how much would they make and pocket it to themselves. the above are just some examples that i could think of. so the question is it a good thing to have the B&M Gates foundation

Bill Gates doing something for someone other than himself??? NOOO WAY that is happening. Just look at how he rips off m$oft users... (I switched to apple by the way, partly bc of it....)

It's a good thing to have the B&M Gates Foundation. It's also good to see Warren Buffet splitting up the egg nest. These people have more money than they will ever be able to spend in their lifetimes, so why not help others. If they find a cure for cancer or some other disease, more power to them ! Sure, corruption could occur but at least it would be in the interest of helping others and not solely about corporate greed as was seen in the Enron scandal. The US economy is already in jeopardy, so I say help some people before the whole thing comes crashing down !

yes it is a good thing. microsoft re-invests its profits into R&D to further the welfare of the business -- i am not sure why you think he should re-invest his own money into a business that is owned by the stockholders. The Gates foundation has done AMAZING things -- especially in India. I admire the fact that some people recognize when they have enough $ to help others... a lot of celebrities, athletes, rappers, etc (i.e.paris hilton,et al) do not give back at all...and they should be ashamed of themselves.

Yes it`s hard to get any results with the Gates The Foundation sends you their formal letter that informs you that they use their funds on Global Health /Education /Global Libraries /Pacific Northwest is the only in country, funding all else is out of country . GOOD LUCK
