Why is aids uncurable if we can put a man on the moon but we can't find a vaccine or a cure???

Because AIDS is a virus and we have never had a cure to a virus in the history of man-kind. There are cures for bacteria, but viruses are completely different because they aren't "alive." Viruses are just replication machines. They don't eat, they don't grow. They just invade human cells to take over their machinery to make more viruses. That's why there isn't a cure- it's because we don't know how to deal with something that isn't "alive."

Because the physics of space travel is a lot easier to figure out than the biology of medicine.

there is a cure for aids the government wont tell anyone because then there wil be more peopl having unprotected sex, it would be like saying hey everyone its okay to ***** everyone with out a condom

im not sure but thats a really good question!

I heard there are cures for almost everything but the drug companies don't want us to find out because than they wouldn't be a ble to continue to make a living.

There is a cure for AIDS its just that it is VERY VERY VERY expensive to make and we, as a nation, can't afford it.

The HI Virus evolves WITHIN each victim. There is no possible cure.

do u think man is the smartest being of em all! believe me this virus outsmarts all the bullets we have against it. this virus has a protein antigenic coat which is changes so rapidly that no medicine we develop or antibodies we develop cant recognize and kill this virus......
we will develop a vaccine, but it will take us atleast another 3yrs to understand the genome of this virus

we could cure it, but it's not cost effective. that's the same reason we don't cure lots of other diseases, there's no money in it

because the strands of the virus are all different. different stages, different types, it all has an influence on finding a cure. one day they may find something to get the job done but right now its inconsistent and keeps alluding the scientist.

Because Bush and everyone else in politics thinks it is more important to spend money on NASA so they can send a man to the moon. but do not find it caring enough to support the research of aids..... what are we getting from sending a man to the moon? Not a dam thing.......

oh then they say they have to launch weather sattel lightes so we get a correct for cast. how many times has the weather been wrong... many times.

AIDS IS curable. Problem is, it's not curable by mainstream medicine. And the cure is way too cheap.

It's called electromedicine. We can't claim to cure anything, though, or we'd get a 'go directly to jail' card.

I think one version is on Keeleynet.com. The circuitry is fairly simple, and lots of people have said it works. And yes, it kills all kinds of viruses.

Because being able to fly a ship is constant, whereas the aids virus is always changing.....Plus, because it is a virus.

Viruses like HIV are not independent organisms. In order to survive and reproduce, HIV relies on certain cells in the human organism. These cells, which give them lodgings, so to speak, are called host cells.

On infection, viruses enter the host cells, bringing with them 芦inverse transcriptase禄, an enzyme which transcribes RNA, the genome of the virus, into DNA, the human genome. In this way the genetic inheritance of the virus moves into that of the host cell and can lurk there for years. To multiply, the virus makes use of the host cell. Another enzyme, 芦protease禄, uses pieces of virus to manufacture new viruses, which leave the host cell and attack other cells. In the course of transcription of the genome and the copying of DNA to reproduce the virus, 芦translation errors禄 are made which give rise to new variants of HIV: these can differ in virulence and bring about death either more or less rapidly. Several million variants have been observed within a single individual.

This variability of HIV enables it to adapt to its environment, and consequently to develop rapid resistance to medication. This is one of the reasons why no one has yet managed to develop a vaccine or curative drugs.

First of all, AIDS and NASA have absolutely nothing to do with eachother.

Space is easy. It's empty. You put a person in a steel box with an O2 tank and boom- man on the moon. (in a nutshell...)

AIDS is completely different. You're messing with human immune systems, biology, medicine, etc. You can't just give a person a ground up plant leaf that you found in the jungle or on the ocean floor and say "Take this twice daily and that virus will be cleared right up!"

I'm going to try not to go into too much depth, but I have done lengthy research on this subject.

During research of the Black Plague, scientists found that there were unlikely survivors. After taking DNA samples from these survivors' descendants, they found that there was a mutation in one of their genes, called the Delta-32 gene, that was immune to the Black Plague. This finding led them to test the same blood samples with the AIDS virus. Although they injected over one thousand times the amount of the virus that it would normally take to infect a human, the blood was immune. Hence, the people with this mutation in their Delta-32 gene are immune to AIDS.

So they have actually found a cure for AIDS. The trick is to now find a way to synthetically reproduce the mutation in the Delta-32 gene and give it to everyone not naturally immune.

I don't know for sure that they are still exploring this possibility, because it has been a couple of years since I did the research. (I did a term paper in college on it.) For all I know, they gave up on that possibility and are now onto something new.

My point is that, as you see, to find a cure for AIDS, they have to dissect people's DNA and genes. The human body is very intricate, and some physical science is still unknown. Even if they found a cure today, it would be years before it was released because they have to test out all the possibilities of how this 'cure' may or may not affect the human population and each of their organs, vessels, muscles, etc.

To fly to the moon, anyone would know that to start you need a way to get there. Your primary problem is finding a mode of transportation. Scientists working on AIDS research have a much more complex task at hand than this, because where to start is not as obvious as a rocket ship.
