Why no vaccine was found to prevent aids so far?

the virus likes to mutate. so even if they did have one.. it wouldn't work for very long

im sure they have one you just have to have millions to get it

drug companies want your $, there's not much money in a vaccine, rather a 'cocktail'... this way you have to pay thousands of dollars every month to live.
Same thing with cancer, they aim to find ways to treat, never a cure. There's no $ in the cure...

The same reason why there is "no cure" for cancer.......so the pharmaceutical company's can get rich off all of the prescription drugs they are selling.

Because. Sure theres millions of dollars in a cure but theres millions more in research. They prolly found the cure 30 years ago, with the amount of people working on it, they just arn't giving it up because hospitals and drug companies are making millions off there not being a cure.

The virus mutates to fast. By the time they get it in a vaccine it is different. Making the vaccine worthless.

I can not believe the answers above me. DO you know how much could be made off a cure to aids or cancer. The cure would sell for huge amounts of $. If they had a cure they surly would not be sitting on it and loosing out on that money.

Because vaccines train the immune system to create antibodies which attack a virus. HIV attacks the immune system directly, it often renders the immune system helpless against any infection, including HIV itself.

because HIV mutates rapidly within the body so what would work on one person wouldn't work on another, it is the same reason that there are so many combinations of drugs used to help supress the virus in HIV+ people

AIDS is in the league of terminal cancer, alzheimers and the rest of the fatal afflictions. Doctors do not have a cure for any of these yet. These afflictions are basically when the basic genes of a human's body go awry.

I know for a fact that a lot of companies are working overtime to find a vaccine for AIDS, just as they are working towards finding a cure for cancer and other terminal diseases.

It just will take some time.

It's a complicated virus... Thats the official reason but you could be accused of thinking it is because drug companies make a helluva lot of money by making and selling their drugs..
I don't think it's the reason.. I'm sure if I had the cure for aids it would be worth a lot of money.. Aids is not going to be eradicated for a long long time though..

there is a vaccine for AIDS but the goverment is to stubborn to share it with those who have it they are all for themselves come on think about it, if they gave it out to the clinics, then what would they have for themselves? its all about GREED, they don't want people to know but those who are smart, find things out

Well, conspiracy theory holds that they could solve the tragedy of this (and all sorts of other diseases) if they felt like it...but they don't...Then, has there ever been a cure - and I mean a CURE for any viral infection??? They are constantly morphing, moving around and being generally sophisticated in a simple sort of way. Bacteria is different - it rides the short bus, so to speak.

It is because HIV directly attacks our immune system. Vaccines are used to stimulate our immune system, so that once the immune system meets a particular type of pathogen, it can respond quickly. However in the case of HIV, the immune system is damaged. The above mechanism no longer works.

I don't want to sound condescending, but people above saying the vaccine's been developed and companies are keeping it secret for the money etc... this is nonsense. Drug companies aren't there to rob you. They really want to save lives. But they're companies - they need to earn money too. The reason why some drugs are so expensive is because it is really that expensive to develop it. How come I don't see conspiracy theories against LV and Chanel?
