This is the most foolish question I have seen today.
- God is a fiction, and has no will.
- If god existed and had a will, would that will extend to inflicting cancer, whooping cough, yellow fever, dengue fever, appendicitis, and hundreds of other ailments on the long-suffering human race?
- Is it okay for people to work on a vaccine against pertussis, but not against AIDS? If so, why?

Do you believe that doctors all "flout God's will" on a day-to-day basis doing what their job entails--saving lives?

Do you think that humans should not reach out to help one another without having to first take direction from a supernatural being?

Do you believe that the supernatural being of which I believe you are speaking would not WANT humans to help each other?

and the essential:
Do you believe that the aforementioned being designed AIDS as a method of removing unwanted people from the face of the earth, and that anyone who attempts to stop the fatal torture is toying with the strings of fate and all righteousness?!

And in case you couldn't tell from the above portion of my response, my answer to your inherent question is:

to ease the suffering of fellow Homo sapiens; possibly one of the most philanthropic things a being can do for its species (or another species, at that)

First, you presume to know God's will, which already makes you flat-out a blasphemer. God's will, so far as I've come to understand religious philosophy on that subject, is unknowable.

Second, AIDS is no longer a homosexuals-only disease. Guess who is the biggest-growing group of victims these days? Senior citizens! So you want to condemn grandma and grandpa for swinging a little?

Third, only a person consumed by hatred would even SLIGHTLY consider condemning someone to a disease-ridden death.

So you are saying people who got AIDS, through no fault of their own, deserve to die a agonizing death. Yes some people behave in a fashion where they would get AIDS by their own actions, but not all. And that the scientists who work on a vaccine, and so many vaccines in the past, are openly defying God. I guess you would like to see Polio, Smallpox, Rubella and Whooping Cough make a come back. No one, not even you, deserve to die in such a manner.

Uh, that's not right. Not all people who have it got it from being gay. Some used infected needles, received bad blood transfusions, and some got it from their mothers while in the womb. You really need to think these things thru before you say something like that. God loves gay people too. And you should be tending to your own accountability to God.
