My guess: a Roman Catholic was upset with the answer, though actually, the question seems a little loaded, and could offend either Christians or atheists since the necessary response would be to point fingers at each other.

SIN was responsible for AIDS. All sin, both Christians and atheists. It is many times a consequence of bad behavior, just as one gains weight after blowing a diet, so nobody in that case is to be blamed other than the participants in the bad behavior. Sometimes, it is passed through open sores, or faulty needles, or whatever. In such cases, there is no personal responsibility (unless the needle was used in the use of drugs and wasn't sterilized), but sin in general is so huge today that people are affected without being directly involved at times.

This does NOT mean that we judge or accuse those who contract the disease -- we all sin and fall short of God's perfect standard. This is why we need a Savior, why Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins, and lives to transform us, and win victory over death.

While it is not nice to hack at a person who is already down, so to accuse or judge those with AIDS as a "lower life form or evil" is wrong, in practical terms, sin is responsible for AIDS.

If you really need to point a finger at somebody point it at the boy geniuses that are running public health policy and bowed to political pressure by refusing to quarantine those who had AIDS . If some body showed up in NYC carrying typhoid r or the bubonic plague the NYC Department of Health would have had them quarantined in 5 minutes ,not so with AIDS

Face it, it was a bad question...and there is no way to answer it without insulting one group or the other.
Why not throw in Muslims, Jews, Gays, Black people...and midgets, while you're at it? Why limit yourself to only insulting two groups?

BTW, anybody that thinks that simply using a condom will keep them from getting AIDS isn't terribly bright to begin with. A good way to avoid getting ANY kind of STD would be not being promiscuous?? Now, there's a thought!!
