Is there a double standard? Is it endemic racism in the media?

Glenn Beck asked, "How do you possibly associate yourself in any way with someone who believes the government invented the AIDS virus to kill African Americans?"

Well now that John McCain has embraced Jerry Falwell, who famously said, "AIDS is not just God's punishment for homosexuals; it is God's punishment for the society that tolerates homosexuals," should McCain be giving an address at Falwell's Liberty University?

What of Hillary Clinton's relationship with New Age spiritual advisor Jean Houston? She channels Greek goddess Athena and put Hillary in conversation with Eleanor Roosevelt? Do we want a Commander in Chief who holds s茅ances in the Oval Office? Hillary apparently believes in the occult.

Seems to me that rather than giving Obama a free ride, the media has played to Hillary's hand, and that somehow people of color are always under greater scrutiny. I for one would rather have a US President who's pastor flies off the handle occasionally than one who talks to the dead.

I agree.The more the media says Obama hasn't done enough to say he doesn't agree with Reverend Write,the more they sound racist.My parents were always the type to say "I'm not raciest BUT..." and always followed it up with something they would never say in front a black friend.It sound like Bill O'Reilly and others are saying the same.....They are very concerned about Barack agreeing that nonwhites have something to be angry about,it makes them feel like they should feel guilty,but they don't.

I'm sure that if John McCain attended a church for years, and his preacher said anything racist against african americans, you would see Jessie Jackson, Al Sharpton and the New Black Panthers protesting in the streets. The news media would be freaking out! You would see non stop news coverage about it all the way up the general elections. The media would be MUCH harder on the republican canidate, than the Democratic candidate. Problem is there hasn't been any real scandals with John McCain. But I'm sure the media will dig up something before the election. Why won't Jessie Jackson, or Al Sharpton lead protests if a black person makes racist comments about whites?
