A) Explain the ideas of potential and kinetic energy using a rubber band as your example.

A) when you stretch a rubber band and hold it you have potential energy because if you let go it will move as the energy is transfered, the movement energy is also known as kinetic energy.

B) A smoke filled room is a bad example so i will describe it differently so you can draw conclutions from that. When you breathe in air, the air travels down pipes to yopur lungs where they reach sacs called alveoli. Alveoli are covered in blood vessels and the oxygen in the air goes into the blood vessels by going throught the wall of the alveoli. the blood then takes the oxygen round the body for resperstion.

C) AIDS is deadly as if you catch a cold when you have AIDS then you won't be able to make antibodies against the flu so it is harder to defeat it. if you can not defeat the flu then you will just get worse without medical attention. And if this happened with something like bird flu you would most likely die from it.

D) In convection hot gas or liquid rises and cold stuff takes it's place.the the hot stuff cools and falls down again and it goes round in a circle. The winds are convection currents and it moves clouds and their is the gulf steam which is a convection current bring warm water to europe.

E) magnetism and electricity are related because if you coil some wire around an iron nail and plud the wire into a power pack then you would turn the nail into an electromagnet and if you turn a magnet in a coil of copper magnet you make electricity. that's what happens in a power station.
