Aids theory n chimpanzee?

if the theory states that the virus ws transmitted to humans through chimpanzees, then what might hav bin a way through which it ws tranferred.. like through what medium? (ex . blood transfer etc.)

moreover, what happens to the chimpanzee infected wit aids n how does it carry it? moreover, i heard african people eat chimpanzee heads, could that hav transmitted aids?

also, y r we not experimenting wit chimpanzee's rather than humans if they were known to hav carried the virus?

HIV is passed from individual to individual in three ways:

1. Mother to baby
2. Sexually
3. Blood to blood.

If you are talking about chimp to human transmission, the first is impossible, and the second is unlikely (chimps don't like having sex with humans, and they are strong and have sharp teeth).

That leaves blood to blood. Chimps are sometimes hunted and butchered for food, so a hunting or butchering accident is a plausible means of transmission.

Chimpanzees can carry the virus HIV, however it doesn't usually cause the disease AIDS in chimps - usually they remain relatively healthy compared to humans with HIV.

Chimpanzees are sometimes used in medical experiments, but given that they don't usually develop AIDS from HIV they are of only limited use in developing treatments for AIDS. There are also serious ethical issues in using humans' close relatives for such purposes.

thats a good question.... I am by no means an expert, you probably know a lot more about this but... I will share what little knowledge I have ..... AIDS which is simply a powerful virus just like the common cold but much more powerful - attacks the T cells which help fight off disease. I read that this virus was in the African jungles for many years and that when we started immunizations in Africa we / they whomever were forced to reuse needles.... so somehow there is correlation with the immunizations they gave in Africa..... Now the resees (sp) monkey which can be a carrier, hence was transmitted via blood borne pathogens through humans... Furthermore I do believe they do tests on monkeys all the time. Hope this helped. I dont know about monkeys, but here are the causes of this disease and as most disease's are created by man.

Causes of AIDS
Although the medical establishment insists that AIDS is caused by the HIV virus, holistic health care practitioners realize that other factors are equal, and perhaps more important in terms of how AIDS is caused. Such factors include the use of illegal drugs, especially stimulants such as amyl nitrates ("poppers") and injected heroin (as well as the sharing of unclean needles by drug users); the chronic use of pharmaceutical drugs, including antibiotics, which destroy healthy flora in the gastrointestinal tract, thereby setting the stage for the invasion and proliferation of harmful microorganisms; poor or malnutrition; contaminated vaccines for diseases such as hepatitis B; tainted blood transfusions; contaminated drinking water; exposure to toxic pollutants; and chronic states of unhealthy emotions, such as stress, fear and despair.

The AIDS drug AZT and, to a lesser extent, protease inhibitors, have also been known to cause AIDS-like symptoms. In addition to its known ability to severely suppress immunity, AZT has also been shown to suppress important health-related tasks of bone marrow, thereby causing anemia, neutropenia (abnormally small number of neutrophils in blood, a white blood cell that protects against infection) and leukopenia (abnormal decrease in white blood corpuscles) in up to half of all people who use the drug. Other side effects of AZT include muscle wasting, extreme nausea, acute hepatitis, headaches, insomnia, dementia, seizures, and the appearance of cancerous lymphomas, all of which are also symptoms associated with AIDS itself.

As for protease inhibitors, although they are not as toxic as AZT, they too, are not without side effects. Furthermore, in order to be effective, they need to be taken in high doses, which can increase their toxicity over time. The body quickly develops resistance to protease inhibitors, as well, eventually making them ineffective. Some of the severe side effects known to be caused by protease inhibitors include chronic diarrhea, vomiting, fatigue, headaches, and fever.

Best of health to you

I think it was transmitted from africans having sex with chimps.

Disclaimer: NOT AN EXPERT. However, I have always understood that AIDS was a man made virus that was tested on monkeys in Africa. African people eat monkey brains, thus the virus was transmitted to people that way. From that it is what it is today. Just a thought?

my bio teacher said in class, that a chimp may hav bit a person, or africans eat them
