AIDS risk? |
A coworker of mine blows her nose and then doesn't wash her hands. Is there any chance she can spread a deadly virus like AIDS in this way? Very unlikely Is there blood in the tissue? if no, then probably not. The last time I checked there was no conclusive evidence that hiv was in sputum (spit) or other bodily fluids like breast milk. That doesn't mean that is for sure so it wouldn't hurt to use a waterless hand cleaner around the office. I would say highly unlikely. The only scenario I could come up with would be... No. HIV/AIDS needs a way to get into your system. If she bleeds on your cut, yes. The worst you can get is her cold. Wash your hands. No not AIDS, but this is exactly how the cold virus spreads. no, unless she coughs or sneezes up blood into your eyes, mouth or open wound and then washing her hands won't do you any good any way. and don't shake her hand if there's blood Very unlikely, but still.....ew. NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. |
