AIDS questions脺?

what are the preventive ways to avoid having the AIDS viruses? and also in HIV? thx

Don't have sex?

No kissing or sitting on toilet seats!

Well,
not having any fluid transfer between the person with aids and you, like for example kissing them will make their salvia go into ur mouth and if his hurt the blood might come on you and ur body may take it in and when u have sex also

you can get AIDS by having sex and through needle sticks.. so, dont have sex with someone and don't share needles ( I mean, don't do drugs!)

HIV is the virus that causes AIDS.
HIV is a sexually transmitted disease. One way to avoid AIDS is to have safe sex.
HIV is also transmitted via contaminated blood. Therefore, it is adviseable not to have contact with infected blood on any open areas of the skin or the body, such as cuts or the mouth. Don't use unsterilized needles. Don't share toothbrushes. HIV is also transmitted from mother to offspring during pregnancy.

A disease that is transmitted via kissing (or saliva) is mononucleosis (mono) which is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, three main transmission routes for HIV have been identified:

1-Sexual route. The majority of HIV infections are acquired through unprotected sexual relations. Sexual transmission can occur when infected sexual secretions of one partner come into contact with the genital, oral, or rectal mucous membranes of another.
2-Blood or blood product route. This transmission route can account for infections in intravenous drug users, hemophiliacs and recipients of blood transfusions (though most transfusions are checked for HIV in the developed world) and blood products. It is also of concern for persons receiving medical care in regions where there is prevalent substandard hygiene in the use of injection equipment, such as the reuse of needles in Third World countries. HIV can also be spread through the sharing of needles. Health care workers such as nurses, laboratory workers, and doctors, have also been infected, although this occurs more rarely. People who give and receive tattoos, piercings, and scarification procedures can also be at risk of infection.
3-Mother-to-child transmission (MTCT). The transmission of the virus from the mother to the child can occur in utero during the last weeks of pregnancy and at childbirth. In the absence of treatment, the transmission rate between the mother and child is 25%. However, where drug treatment and Cesarian section are available, this can be reduced to 1%. Breast feeding also presents a risk of infection for the baby.

Here are some of the ways in which HIV is spread:
IV drug usage
Homosexual sex
Heterosexual sex (including anal sex)
Receiving HIV tainted transfusion
Sharing needles

In response to another post, you are very unlikely to get HIV from a toilet seat.

To avoid HIV infection, avoid the above high risk behaviors.
