How do people catch AIDS?

People need to prevent themselves from catching the AIDS virus. How can we keep from catching it? I don't know about you, but I don't wanna catch no AIDS...

AIDS can be transfered by sexual contact with someone that is infected with this virus. Condoms are a great way to protect yourself from sexual transmited diseases such as AIDS and Herpes.

Condoms don't protect you 100% but they do a bit. The best way to prevent catching any STD's is by doing abstenance, or not having sex , or when you are ready to have sex, make sure both partners get checked and see if they are clean :)

You contract Aids through forms of bodily fluids, through sex, blood(needles) etc. You do not contract Aids from sneezes, or coughs, only through true blood to blood contact or sexual encounters. It does not travel through the air or anything else. So, if you don't want to have HIV don't have sex, and don't share needles with anyone. PERIOD! If you MUST have sex, use condoms, it is the safest bet. Not 100% but close.

from being nasty with a girl or guy. sexual intercourse. or getting blood from the person with aids on a cut that you got. condoms say theyre guarnteed but i doubt it. if it gets a chick pregnant then im sure youll get aids. so far my chicks not pregnant though

While condoms are the most popular choice of protection they are not 100% safe against all sexually transmitted diseases. And by all means do not double up on condoms- the friction only lessens the percentage. Abstinence is the only guarantee.

aids can be caught from someone with aids that have open sores in there mouth and you french kiss or is realy into it

AIDS can be contracted either from sexual contact, or blood-to-blood contact.

Basically it's any kind of contact with infected bodily fluids.

Innocent people, some who are even small children, catch AIDS from blood transfusions and filthy objects used to administer medications and the like to them. Others who live carelessly with unprotected sex and sharing of needles, can transmit STDs to each other. Also, you must check out the individual that you are interested in. I don't care how the person protests. It is up to you and your LIFE to make them get tested before you get intimately involved with them. AIDS is just like any other virus out there. You need to be careful with it. If you don't want AIDS then you need to stay away from sexual relationships until you are married, this will dramatically decrease your chances of acquiring the disease through sex. Also, kissing someone with AIDS can cause you to catch the virus. Just be careful and open with the people you date, and make sure they are just as careful and open as well. AIDS can also be contracted through blood transfusions, although hospitals are very careful about monitoring their blood transfusions. It can also be given to you if you have an open sore and an AIDS victim were to sneeze on you and the mucus from their sneeze were to enter your open wound.... but this is a very unlikely way of contracting AIDS. Sharing needles is a gateway to AIDS... basically anything that involves sharing bodily fluids. Just be careful and avoid having a loose sexual life and I am sure everything will be just fine. There are also some cases where AIDS infected mothers give birth to children who are HIV positive and then that can evolve into AIDS, as it can with any HIV positive individual.
