Why cant we send Africa condoms to help with Aids?

See, If we teach them what we learn everyday, That, we need to use condoms, it would slow down the aids virus and starving children issues. I Think that you shouldn't have kids, if your gonna have to watch them starve. It may seem mean, but I live in U S A and I have no kids and i could have! but, its my choice not to,but i sure wouldnt have one ,if i had to watch them starve to death. We want to find cures for aids and send money that I am sure the goverment Keeps it; and the people over there never see any help from it. America gives, but really is it being used to help the ones it's intended for? I bet America dosen't have any Idea...

I've often said the same thing, but while thinking about the birth control they severely need......having all these babies they can't feed.

I think we should send them pictures of Oprah in a micro thiong bending over - that will stop all relations, anywhere!

Because condoms don't cure AIDS.

A majority of the people in Africa who have AIDS are kids, meaning they were born with it or had it transmitted to them in another manner.

Sure condoms would help the problem, but it wouldn't solve it. They have them there too, they must not use them often enough.

They need to be educated.
This is going to sound mean but i personally dont care. They are making the problem worse for themselves, and they turn to us sexually healthy people for help.
Its all about 'food food food.' But they need a stable education system.

Many people like President Bush can't get past the fact that they oppose any form of artificial birth control whatsoever. I think it is morally wrong too, but our current Africa policy sure as hell isn't working, and we need to do something. The basic situation should be rectified, like get the economy and health care going, using condoms if necessary until they are no longer necessary. Then we will have done our part as human beings to alleviate the suffering of others.

One important factor: even if African men had cupboards full of condoms, many women do not have the status, power or respect to get a man to wear a condom. Keep in mind that during intercourse between a man and a woman, the one who will get HIV is much more likely to be the woman.

So, since condoms make sex less enjoyable, the man does not have a very high incentive to use one.

So what we are trying to do is invent prophylactics that women can use without men's knowledge. For example, there was a failed clinical trial last year with a microbicide, which is a sort of lubricant, that prevents HIV contraction, and another one is starting this year using a drug Merck patented.

Additionally, female condoms are distributed to women, but the problem is that they are not as easy to use, and the man will still know the woman is wearing something for protection.

I would like to help my Americans not spread the virus. Contrary to popular belief, most people in Africa aren't starving and can pay for weenie protection.

Because for many Africans, the use of condoms is wrong. Traditionally, lots of children is a sign of wealth, and in a land of no pensions, you rely on your children to provide for you in your old age.
I grew up in South Africa and the government tried to encourage people to use condoms - it offended many, who thought it was a government plot to control the population.

Because in return for aid, Africa allows evangelical Apocolyptic Christian ministers from the US to preach to the African people. They believe condoms are a sin and the world is going to end soon anyway. A kind of religious genocide.
