Is it possible to get rid of AIDS like this...?

I'm wondering, can it be possible that we ISOLATE a person with the AIDS virus from the rest of the world, and stop their killer T-cell production with a drug, then we would sanitize the person, then keep them in a room that's been sterilized, and wait until the virus runs out of victims? Since the AIDS virus does not do other things other than take over your killer T-cells...

I mean, this is just for ONE PERSON. Not for a whole population. And I don't mean you "sanitize" the person's blood, I mean by the external parts of the persons body (since it might cause illnesses because of harmful bacterias on the outside).

It is too widespread to effectively quarantine the victims. With the current world travel customs and advances, any disease can become a global issue over time. It would be impossible to quarantine everyone with a virus.

Except for there are millions of people that have the disease undiagnosed, because they don't even want to know, not to mention the tens of millions of people worldwide that have it that probably aren't going to go for being locked up and isolated for the rest of their lives. Other than that, the idea is just dandy...not.

you keep thinking. sanitizing a person's blood i don't think has been discovered yet. Ask Typhoid mary about isolation. at least you are trying to come up with a solution.

I've wondered the same thing myself and believe that under the conditions you specify a person with AIDS would be able to live a long life, since the fact that their immune system was compromised would be negated by their sanitized environment.
