How AIDS is transferred (apart from intercourse) ?

I want to know how AIDS is transferred from one person to another (apart from intercourse). Does kissing/smooching transfers AIDS virus?? In how many cases this virus is transferred while in bed with an opposite sex person???

Thanks in advance

you have to have an actual transfer of bodily fluids, kissing i would say is highly unlikely unless you have an open sore, or cut on the lips or in the mouth and you transfer saliva, then yes you could transfer it, In bed unless your having intercourse, no way to transfer aids, it has to have DNA transfered. Open cuts touching, sores, or intercourse are normally the only ways to transfer this.

Addicts using contaminated needles, tained blood used in blood transfusions, there is also a possibility wherever bodily fluids are exchanges.

Being a South African Citizen where AIDS is a real problem, I think I can answer your question. The most common way of being infected with the AIDS virus, is during intercourse. Aids is transferred via bodily fluids, and also blood. Therefore blood transfusions etc with blood that contain the virus, will also infect the receiver of the blood. Kissing/smooching/touching etc, or even using the same toilet facilities as an AIDS infected person/s cannot cause you to be infected. That is a myth. Hope that helped!!

Well kissing does not transfer aids, but babies are born with the disease that gets passed down from their mother, or people get it from sharing needles or blood that is contaminated by HIV.

Any exchange of bodily fluids can transmit the aids virus. Some are more dangerous than others. Sex is probably the number one method of transmission, with blood being number two. Saliva can also do it.

kissing dos not transmit aids unless you have an open sore in your moth. intravenous needles is another aids transmission, and permiscuous sex with no protection...education is the key to protectring yourself from this disease,

Well, first off, AIDS insn't transferred, HIV is. AIDS is a syndrome, that's caused by the HIV virus.

Saliva will not contain enough of the virus to transfer it, so kissing is ok. You do have to be careful however of cuts in the mouth, as blood is a danger.

That should give you quite a bit of info on it.

blood transfusion (HIV contaminated), needle sharing among drug abusers, normal spontaneous delivery (placental detachment)

There has been no known cases of AIDS being passed through saliva. It could be theoretically possible for AIDS to be passed if both have open mouth sores. It's never been known to happen.

Kissing soon after having a tooth pulled could pass AIDS due to blood being transfered. The non-infected person would need to have an open sore or such to be infected.

One of my employees husband was infected by blood during an operation in the early 90's. She gets tested every 6 months and in negative. When he drops her off, they kiss like lovers that are going off to war. When he picks her up it's like she just got back from war. This is every day. This has been this way for the 11 yrs she has worked for me. He was infected 14 yrs ago.

I think you are quite safe.

sometimes it can be transmitted by kissing if they have gum problems like blood oozing out of there gums.. sometimes saliva have blood you cant see it but its there
but kissing on the cheek is OK unless they have pimples and blood is coming out of it and then you lick it off... or sharing needles.. or blood transfusion and the blood have aids in it.. or your pregnant you give it to your unborn child.. or splashes of contaminated blood.. like aerosol, or splash of blood get into your eyes mouth or skin that has an opening(cuts)like those things they use in the dentist... high speed .. food that is not wash and the chief cuts himself preparing the food and splashes of blood is in it..

In how many cases this virus is transferred while in bed with an opposite sex person???
with this one if you just sleep with them as in sleeping no sex you should be safe.. loll but if you have sex with them without condoms now bad luck to you you might have the HIV but if you were using condom then its unlikely you will have HIV unless the condom has a whole in it then your doom..
my advise don't have sex till his your husband or kissing for that matter and if you really want to kiss him or her be sure he or she don't have any gum problems and its just yuck to kiss anyone with that disease or have hiv test b4 the two of you have sex

anything that is a mixture of bodily fluid could be chancy but its unlikely from jsut kissing or sitting on a toilet. Research has proven this. Any sexual fluids can transfer though

Sexual intercourse with infected person -heterosexual is the commonest cause.in 80 % cases. Other causes are contaminated needles-intravenous drug abuse, homosexuality,
blood and blood products transfusion, donation of semen and
organs, transplacental transfer, secretion of virus in the breast
milk-infection of children born out of HIV infected mothers etc.
Kissing and smooching, simple touching, caressing or sharing
a room or using common clothes or utensils does not transmit
AIDS virus.

Transmission of the virus occurs:

Through sexual contact -- including oral, vaginal, and anal sex
Through blood -- via blood transfusions (now extremely rare in the U.S) or needle sharing
From mother to child -- a pregnant woman can transmit the virus to her fetus through their shared blood circulation, or a nursing mother can transmit it to her baby in her milk
Other transmission methods are rare and include accidental needle injury, artificial insemination with donated semen, and through a donated organ.

HIV infection is not spread by casual contact such as hugging, by touching items previously touched by a person infected with the virus, during participation in sports, or by mosquitoes
