No, you can not get AIDS from a toilet seat. Where have you been over the past few years. The virus dies very quickly if it is somehow deposited on such as a toilet seat. The virus is spread by contact with fluids of the body, such as blood, or other fluids. It is not an air borne pathogen. There again, perhaps the foolish might just get it by the means others say that it can be acquired just because it would rid the world of those dumb enough to believe such stories.

Don't be silly. The virus has to have an entry point. It is not airborne and it cannot survive in a sterile location. Plastics, glass, rocks, ceramics are too sterile for the virus to survive.
I've had two cousins die of the disease and both of them were hugged and held by their families without rubber gloves, or plastic clothes. They both died without passing the disease to us who held and hugged them before their death.
