If you have a cut on your lips and kiss someone that have an AIDS are u prone to get the virus? If the cut or laceration has exposed blood (bodily fluid) on both folks, it is possible to transmit HIV (the virus that can lead to AIDS if unchecked). However, it is more likely to transmit hepatitis. HIV is a very fragile virus that dies in contact with the air once outside the body. However, if the fluids exchange in very intimate contact where air is not present (pressing lips and rubbing frantically will do it), the chances for infection increase. There is no current evidence (in the 20 plus years we have been studying the disease transmission modes) that saliva transmits enough of the viable virus to cause infection. There will be people that deny this, but if you have open sores, and the other person does, too, there is a possibility. Consensus seems to be that saliva does not carry the virus, but it seems prudent to not share body fluids at all. It is not normally transmitted through kissing, but you have an increased posibility with a cut lip. it matters how you kiss hem If you two made out and french kissed then yes there is a chance. But if it was just a kiss on the cheek, there is a very low chance. Causes of HIV/AIDS |
