Is the virus aids from the 80's cured in 2005?? |
my friend said aids was cured like two years ago.is that true. no, unfortunately there is no cure for AIDS Um...No! theres no cure for aids until this days. Where did you get THAT idea????? No, unfortunately, ur friend is wrong. no, there are just more medicines now that provide people to live longer. This is great for them but actually increases the risk of new hosts getting it. No, there is no cure for aids, but there have been developments in drugs to treat aids that have greatly improved the health and extended the lives of people with it. Even people who seem "cured" still have traces of the virus in their bodies. AIDS has no cure... yet... many scientists would love to do that, but the situation is better AND worse because the HIV virus mutates and even though there are medicines to treat it, it is changing so much and so fast (due to a form of cross-breeding within the virus family) that it is hard to stay ahead of the changes. The HIV various has something called "hypervariability" in the glycoproteins on its surface, so developing a vaccine that is based on only one of them will not work. I'm hoping that perhaps somebody could develop a vaccine that targets multiple glycoproteins, but when it comes to dealing with RNA viruses actual behavior in the human body things get very complicated, very fast. |
