I may even get in trouble for this, but when in the service we heard that YES us and another government made it trying to make a type of biological weapon that can be used against other countries... and when they spread it, they could not control it and they did not know it would take some times only a month and other times were undetermined ( as we know now, people can carry it and spread it for years without knowing they have it) so they stopped the classified project, BUT and this is a big BUT, but is did not stop, and they could not control it, and the antidote they thought they had did NOT work... so the countries that were involved with it washed their hands of any knowledge of it, hoping it would die off like the common flu does every year...but as we now know..it does not..and it has mutated too....
and it has been in existence a lot longer than the public knows about it....
and of course they either are true or made up about the monkey thing...
and there is a lot more to this disease than any government tells us, so we do not go into mass panic...

I believe the CIA and their hands dipped into quite a bit. If they did, I wonder if the job they invented it for worked? But if they did, it's obvious it backfired because it spread like a wildfire.

I'm not sure about the CIA being involved in this, but I'm certain HIV was produced in a laboratory. It's main purpose being the control of population. I mean think about what sex would be without HIV. If HIV wasn't invented fewer people would use condoms than they do now, resulting more children and so on. Most STDs are curable so many do not fear them, while HIV is another story...
