Should doctors who suffer from the AIDS virus be required by law to inform their patients of their having it?

I am participating in a mock trial in class and our topic is the above. I need your opinions or facts about this specific question by Friday December 7, 2007. I am for this question not against it. Thank you in advance.

I think they have the same rights as you and I do. I don't think they should have to tell us that they have Aids. However I think it is morally wrong for them to place others at risk. If my doctor had Aids I would hope he/she would step away from the patients and go more into advising other doctors.

I don't have many facts and I'm not going to pretend I do. But I thought I would pass alone my thoughts to you.

Yes. They should have to inform the patients of this deadly, infectious disease.

Sorry, any doctor with Aids should not be allowed to practice medicine on anyone that doesn't have aids.

Yes, in order for the patient to provide informed consent. The doctor poses a greater hazard than uninfected doctors.
