Religion dangerous than a disease ( like aids)/virus?

it spreads faster
kills more people
craps people

I think you mean "dangerouser" than a disease.

exactly

it's the worst mental illness known

Religion has in its self....become a disease.

It's not so much religion and beliefs that cause harm--it's fundamental, mindless following of dogma that kills thought that becomes dangerous.

Keep your theory to yourself. It is the human who are making this crap, not religion nor religious people!

religion per se is of very little importance.
what is important is YOUR personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
don't get hung up on "religion".
please read John 3:1-16

Meryy Christmas!

I fully agree.

they make the same argument abotu guns, but it turns out, its whatthe idiots do with the guns that make the guns bad.

I'm gonna have to agree.

That is only your opinion.

Religion can also be a very good thing to help people reach higher than their self imposed limits.

My finding God was the best thing that ever happened to me.

personally I would rather have religion than aids. but you are free to choose aids if you prefer.

Religion is a mental virus, especially the Abrahamic three, i dont see Buddhists forcing you to convert just those annoying christians.

Kills more people. Back that statement up!

Cars kill people. Maybe we should get rid of them!

there has yet to be a discovered virus that saves lives every day.

religion on the other hand has saved more lives than it has ever destroyed.

One problem is in the religion definition as far as I am concerned. The effect is the same with political ideologies. As soon as somewthing becomes for the greater good, for "right", or for any higher power such as God or Country it is time to be very cautious.
There have been as many scoundrels wrapped as patriots as there have been as Saints.
In many places the religion was the state and in some places it still is. (Israel, Iran, others)
The statement given by the religious about the Communist state of the Soviet Union being Atheist and committing atrocities ignores the effect of the State merely became the replacement religion. Socialism became dogmatic and rigid and was the greater good. People were willing to do incredible evil in its name. The Nazis were the same, and the USA fundamentalists are heading the same way.

Humanity always loses when ideologie become the master of mankind instead of its servant.

edit: Pagan Rebirth says it much more briefly and very well.

All belief systems may be considered to be living organisms similar to viruses.

Just as a virus or bacterium is independent of individual hosts and exists in many hosts similtaneously, our ideas are also independent of individual minds and may exist in many minds simultaneously.

Our belief systems, such as religions, are capable of evolving and adaptation, just as viruses or bacterium are capable of doing.

So it is quite reasonable to compare religions to viruses or other micro-organisms. Both are infectious, independent of individual hosts, and adaptive to the environments within which they exist.

But religion does not spread faster than a common cold, it does not kill more people than do plagues, and it craps out dogma not people because the physiognomy of a religion is intellectual and has no orifice from which humans are expelled.

If, on the other hand, you mean religion trashes more peoples lives, well you probably are not too familiar with polio, lucky you.

Religion does far more to build people's lives than it does to tear them down. While it is true that you or I may not value living a religious life trapped within dogma and doctrine that we are not permitted to challenge or disobey, this sort of lifestyle is perfectly acceptable and even beneficial to the majority of people who subscribe to religious faith for a sense of security and wellbeing.

Aside from e coli, I don't know of any viruses or any other micro-organisms that can help you feel good about yourself or your life.
