If the aids virus is so hard to contract sexually, why do so many people get it?

Wikipedia says its 1 in 2000 for a man to get it from having vaginal sex with a woman. For the woman its 1 in 1000. 1 in 150 for people sharing a needle. And 90% on blood transfusions... Why are so many people getting it? They say 19,000 people get it every day. Here is wikipedias info http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aids. You would think that the virus would just die off, if were really that hard to get. An aids man would haveto *** inside the woman, or put of a lot of precum, to even count as the 1 in 1000. Even if a woman had sex with an aids man twice a day, every day, for a year she has a 27% chance of not having it. So... Whats the deal.

Wikipedia is not the ultimate expert on HIV and AIDS. You may wish to gamble your life of these statistics and that's your choice. Sex is one of the three main ways that HIV is transmitted. And each encounter ups the odds. Besides, there are too many variables that come into play to describe each and every possible combination.

It isn't hard to get. You rely upon the statistics at your peril.

The Wikipedia statistics imply to you that its 'hard to get'. Yet reality states it differently. So.......which are you going to bank your life on? Cause the problem at this point is that HIV is fatal. So you are playing with your life. I think I'd err on the side of caution.
