Is this a good virus or spyware protection?

i was downloading something off the net and all of a sudden this websit poped uphttp://xponlinescanner.com/2008/3/en/_fr... it said i was at risk in spyware or something lke that. then i went to stopsign.com or something like that and it said to click here for a free scan but it was downloading it. i just want to know wich is better

You shouldn't click on anything that pops up on your computer, it could be malware. I highly recommend you use Firefox instead of IE, much safer w/built-in pop up blocker. Here are some good programs if you're looking for anti-virus & anti-spyware (use only 1 anti-virus).
