Why would a Republican in Indiana vote for Obama? Your thoughts?

That would be Mark Maglioa, 48, whose vote for the Illinois senator was purely strategic.

Maglioa said Obama has been speaking with a "forked tongue" about his history with the Rev. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr., the longtime leader of Chicago's Trinity United Church of Christ.

Wright performed Obama's marriage and baptized his two daughters. One of his sermons inspired the talismanic title of Obama's most recent memoir, "The Audacity of Hope."

"For 20 years, he was an inspired member of that church, and then the dirty laundry got pulled out on the clothes line," said Magioa, who was unimpressed when Obama broke with Wright last week, following a series of Wright statements about the AIDS virus, U.S. foreign policy and the wisdom of Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan that Obama denounced as "rants."

Yet Maglioa voted for Obama.

Why? Because as a supporter of likely Republican nominee Sen. John McCain, Maglioa aimed to help the Arizona senator by boosting the Democrat he considers the weakest November opponent.

"Barack Hussein Obama," Maglioa said, using the middle name that Obama does not use professionally. Of Sen. Hillary Clinton, he said with grudging admiration, "I just feel like she won't fold under pressure."

Because this is the strategy of the republicans.
Carl Rove said early in the primary elections that he had a strategy to get another republican in the white house in November.
The strategy was hurry to nominate a Republican candidate
then get republicans to vote for Obama in the remaining
primaries/caucus.This would get Hillary out of the race.
Then all those republicans that voted for Obama in the primaries will vote for MC Cain in november.The Republicans are raising a false hope with Obama.
The republicans can't win if Hillary is the Nominee because all they have to slam her with is what her husband did in the white house.And she shouldn't have to pay for something that her husband did.

Anyone who votes for a person they don't support should be fined and anyone promoting such actions should be jailed as attempting to disrupt the democratic process.

Strategic voting isn't democracy, unless you live in Russia, Cuba, or Venezuela.

With that being said, it will be incrediby ironic if the Republicans help Obama get into the Whitehouse.

That really does not say anything bad about Barack, it says a lot more about how stupid some Republicans are. Barack has already been in a lot more pressure than he ever will be in the general election and he polls well in cities (The areas Dems need to win because the country areas wont vote for them). Hilary wont be able to win the country areas in the general election.

The only reason I can come up with is they feel like he'd be easier to beat in the general election. I'm not so sure of that myself. Or they could be totally disenfranchiesd with the Rep. party. But to swing to the total opposite end of the spectrum with Obama is crazy. Obama is like the anti-Repub. with his views.
