From both what I've read and my experiences with these beings, along with guesses from putting the pieces together, I have a theory about what the Greys are really up to.
In short, the Greys were promised by the Reptilians that their species would regain its emotional intregity they lost (the Greys are a human race, related to us distantly but they devolved themselves from having emotions because they decided emotions were bad and caused them to destroy their planet, and have since got cold feet about the move).
The Greys are not that far ahead of 21st century humans. Maybe a few centuries. Most of the Greys on Earth, I suspect, come in the form of a robotic or holographic avatar, linked by a gravity-wave information system that transfers sensory input from Earth back to their bodies on their home planet/space station.
The Greys have kind of hung around for thousands of years, but it wasn't until 1947 that they made a pact with human leaders. In the mid 20th century people became capable of building nuclear bombs, and the Reptilians realized that if they played around with people, they could possibly cause humanity to destroy itself, so they and the Greys can move in.
This exchange with the UN (formed just two years ago) in 1947 included the transistor (which appeared basically out of nowhere in the late 1940s) and the greatest sellout in history - the UN's agreement to allow the Greys to contact, abduct, and harrass innocent people, in exchange for the transistor which in their words would "end the evils of Communism".
The purpose of these experiments is to study human emotion, especially fear, so that they can manipulate people to kill and hate each other. The Greys, I suspect, have a code that they can not directly kill anyone, and if they have killed anyone, it's probably rare and against this code. If they tell you "We won't hurt you", say "you already have. Go away."
This has affected society in many ways. The Greys work from the core down, and the first thing they did was destroy the family structure.
During their early experiments in the 1950s and early 1960s, the Greys discovered that their abductions were most fearsome when they performed sexual experiments. They also learned that many of their victims who were children later became pedophiles, and their victims in turn would often become abusers.
By the 1980s and 1990s, people discovered this massive epidemic of hideous abuse, and it caused people to become extremely paranoid. Children no longer went outside, or had fathers.
This of course, served the Greys' agenda. Without a family structure, and with fear of strangers, people are now far more willing to allow themselves to be watched, and have drawn inwards, becoming more materialistic and using up more resources.
The Reptilians have a plan - to reduce the human population to between 500 million and 2 billion people. They tell their victims that this is because the human population is putting a strain on the Earth, but in reality it is not our population, but our use and waste of resources that is straining the environment.
The real reason they want this reduction is so they can more easily hybridize the humans with Greys.
The Reptilians invented the AIDS virus as a means to decimate the population of Africans, gays, and sexually liberated people. This not only slowed the growth of human population, it also increased the negative sexual energy humans have.
The 1947 UN agreement also required that nations put chemtrails into their atmosphere, fight wars against Communist countries and support extremist groups.
Karma exists, and everything happens for a reason, and all of these have raised the consciousness of people unintentionally. The opposition to the Vietnam War led to the 1960s counterculture, the precursor of the Environmental Revolution of the 2010s. The epidemic of pedophilia has caused people for the first time in history to widely value children.
The Greys come here for a selfish purpose, and their contacts are extremely traumatized by their encounters, but they also have served to help leap us into the new era that will begin in 2012. This is intense. I enjoyed reading it. If this was written by you, I urge you to continue. Peace. No.
