The oldest people in the world are 113 (man) and 115 (woman)...?

Think of how many crazy, amazing, devastating, life changing things that those people have seen in their lifetime. The oldest woman in the world is from the United States and she was born in 1894. She's old enough to have seen:

- Invention of cars
- Color TV
- Titanic sunk
- Many wars
- Prohibition
- Blacks and women's right to vote
- the persecution of african americans all the way up in history to the first black president
- Landing on the moon

Can you imagine seeing all of those things? What year would you turn 115 and what kinds of things do you think you will see if you live until then?

I'll answer:

I would be 115 in the year 2103. I think by then we will have hovercraft cars. AIDS will be cured by then probably but there will be an even deadlier virus. I think there will be space stations that people live on, too. That is, if we don't destroy our Earth by 2103.

Well, there are already space stations that people live on, and I've seen movies with hovercars, and I don't think it would work. 3d only works for long distances. Traffic gets ridiculous, but...

I'm sure if I am lucky to live a long life, I will start getting pretty tired of all the so-called advances happening around me at great speed that everybody thinks are so darn great, and yet none of them really seem to make people's lives any better in any real sense, only more complicated, busy and silly...in fact, I am already sick of iPods and cellphones for exactly those reasons and I am barely 40! High technology doesn't really make things better once you have it good, although it can bring some people out of poverty.

We are all still worried about the same big-picture things we were a hundred years ago: food, housing, energy, money, politics, war. Nuclear power and the internet haven't really fixed any of those worries. They just aren't solveable by technology. They are human problems.

///Prefer my stereo with the turntable and the big speakers. People hear that and they think I have a band in my house. The average home music system sounds far worse now than it did in 1975.

Many scientists believe that we will cure the problem known as aging by the year 2040. Then comes reverse-aging. The mapping of the human genome (completed in 2003) will increase our medical abilities exponentianaly. Many scientists think that young people today could live for literally thousands of years. I hope that by the year 2100 global warming has gone the way of y2k and hope that we our beggining to move to underground cities to protect our natural earth. I hope that poverty has been eliminated. To grasp how much will change this century think about what it was like to live in 1900 and what it is like to live now. Then imagine that is widely believed that the 21st centuries progress will be 10-20 times the progress of the 20th century. Whatever happens it should be exciting
