Is it true that you can only get aids through your blood ?

Don麓t get me wrong here. I was told that during sexual intercourse you usually get "micro-wounds" that expose your blood in a minimal part and allow for the virus from your partner麓s fluid to enter your bloodstream. That would explain why some people such as the gay community are at higher risk; I assume that during behind* sex this wounds occur most often. *(sorry, yahoo banned the "a" word).

scooby doo has the best answer. It is transmitted through blood, semen and vaginal fluids. All infections must meet 3 criteria: 1. sufficient number of virus, 2. an infected individual, and, 3. a portal of entry. Meet all those criteria and, WHAM, you may very well get infected with any virus.

Not at all. You can get it through sex when partners can infect each other with their bodily fluids as well. This goes for oral sex and intercourse. It is very unlikely you could catch aids through saliva when you kiss or swap drinks(unless there is an open sore in the mouth).

Scientists have identified 3 ways that HIV infections are spread: sexual intercourse with an infected person, contact with contaminated blood, and transmission from an infected mother to her child before or during childbirth or through breastfeeding

well, needles. also having sex (happens when either a guy/girl already have AIDS and pass it on to u.)

if your partner has the HIV, an open cut or sore in their mouth and they perform oral on you, you could contract it that way as well. Otherwise you can't get it from saliva alone or from sweat. It dies when it hits the air.

You can get aids through bodily fluids such as salava, picking with your eye, vagina, IV drugs, and sexual intercourse including oral sex.
