HIV is a virus that weakens the immune system, and AIDS is the last and most severe stage of HIV, where the symptoms are common to those of the flu, like headache, fever, sore throat, nausea, vomiting, muscle aches, and sometimes ab cramps. But usually HIV has no early symptoms. after the early symptoms fade away (2-3 weeks) then you might not have any other symptoms for years. But then as we get more into the stages you get symptoms of: sudden weight loss, fatigue, really bad sweating at nights, and swollen lymph nodes. It is diagnosed with blood tests called ELISA and western blot assay. |
