Why do homophobic people feel the need?

to come into the LGBT category and fill it with hateful unsolicited dribble? Nobody here is asking you to get over your 'straightness' or hoping that you contract the AIDS virus, why do you feel the need to write abuse to a group of people whose only crime is to be different from you? I really doubt that if you were confronted by any of us in person that you would be as nasty and cruel as you are in this anonymous medium, cowards never are. Are you really that scared or threatened? I feel very very sorry for you all

I just want to say that for the people who have answerd this question by saying something like "I don't condone or like homosexuality but I won't stand in their way." or "It's bad that people say disrespectful things but you have to realize that homosexuality is wrong." And the one who said that they expressed their anti gay opinion in a civilized manor... all I have to say is There is no such thing a civilized bigotry. If you think homosexuality is wrong you are homophobic deal with it. We do not have to accept that it is wrong b/c it isn't. There is no such thing as dissing an entire comunity of people for something they have no control over in a civilized manor. Its just plain wrong. Just as wrong as racism. Just as wrong as being against interracial marriages. There is no civility in prejudice.

It is sad that people judge any groups because of their sexual proclivity, just like they judge people due to their race, gender and/or social status. There will always be people who try to feel superior by degrading other people. Racism is kind of a hot button topic, so I guess they choose to target gays and lesbians. I'm sorry for the ignorant people who have such low self-esteem that the only way they can feel good is to be mean to other people.

They just don't understand.
A lot of homophobes don't know any one who is gay so they never have a really impression of what gays are really like. They are just scared hateful people.

There's a saying but I don't know if its true or not. Its said that most homophobes themselves are gay and are afraid to admit it because of friends and family.

For the same reason that athiests permeate the religion and spirituality section and insult, slam and disrespect the Christians...they are hate mongers. They get sick kicks from picking on people from ebhind a computer monitor because they are ickly little wussies who can't do squat to your face. I personally don't intentionally come in here. And I do not leave nasty messages. I will step up to the plate and say that I don't condone homosexuality, and have expressed that view in a civilized manner, only to receive very hostile comments in return. I merely respond to the questions asked, and then receive note stating that I'm "homophobic", which is absurd because I am not "afraid" of it whatsoever. I just do not condone the life.

The venom works both ways. My solution in the case of the ones in LGBT, don't ask the question if you're not willing to accept the answer.

Because its the internet and they know they can get away with saying things they'd never be able to say in public. No one can slap them or worse. About the only thing that might happen is they get deleted, but then they can always create a new ID and come right back. This makes them feel invisible.

I am in a rather depressed state at the moment of reading this question and what you say and ask is quite true.

I empathize with your feelings. I have noticed an innate need within many people to put others down using whatever they can in an effort to make themselves feel superior or better in some way. If it is not about someone being gay then it will be about them being disabled, or their religion or their nationality or that they ware glasses. The glasses one I experienced at the age of 4.

I liked a comment made by someone answering another question - In being nasty about others we show our own faults, the ones obvious to all but ourselves.

The rude and nasty questions and answers about homosexual people are by losers with no life.

Now, there are some questions and answers that are asked in a correct manner and speak the truth. The fact that God does not approve of homosexuals is true, and the fact that homosexuality is wrong is the truth.

I do not care to ask or answer questions relating to homosexuality since I generally refuse to participate in anything to do with it, but I think you need to respect the people who have questions/answers that speak the truth. I agree that the haters are wrong, but please respect the truth.
